Chill is off the air and the Latakia put away. Just had a sloppy joe sandwich for lunch and firing up some C&D Exhausted Rooster in an MM Mark Twain. First IPA for the day might just get popped too!

I'm trying to narrow my open sample count since I am approaching 120 samples of 1 oz or less. So I'm focusing on blends that I have only a few bowls left of and todays was mcclellands british woods. I'm smoking it in the maddis 3/4 bent blasted egg with a horn accent. Orange creme soda alongside.

... on a very windy day, windsmoker is trying something new... Something called 'Joe's Blend' that a member of pipesmokers sent me. Not sure what it is, but I like it. It appears to be Cavendish and maybe virginia. Also new to me today is the use of my Rolex Vest Pocket Pipe. OMG, be careful of the nose hairs during lighting. I did avoid burnt hair aroma, but it is CLOSE. So, the little pipe smokes well. The odd shaped bowl is different, but it actually is deep and holds plenty of tobacco. This will be my travel pipe from now on. Easy to clean, small and works nicely. The pipe is black right now, I will probably strip it, I like the color of briar. The black will remain as highlights I hope. I found that my favorite tamper wouldn't fit the bowl, until I turned it over and used the other end. The tamper is one of those 'pocket knife' designs with a poker and 'knife' scraper and the tamper. The hinge end of the pocket knife fit the bowl and served as a fine tamper.

I had a bowl of 5 Bros. topped with G&H Dark Birdseye in the MM Legend 5th Ave last night while racing on the PS3 with heavy rain & thunder as background noise.
I'm starting my 2nd bowl of D&R Two Timer in the MM Legend 5th Ave with a glass of ice tea.
