I got mine today and I just had a bowl of #515. I smoked it in an Old Mokum ceramic pipe so I can get the pure flavor. Tasted great to me. I don't have the sensitive taste buds of some, but I am satisfied. Next up is the #191.

Welcome and Congratulations on the purchase! I wish you all the best in this endeavor!
As a native New Yorker, I am happy to know that this historic company and the blends that I have enjoyed for so many years have had their lifespan extended! I walked into the Wilke store on Madison in the mid 1980's and quickly became friends with Genarro Filosa and got to know Elliot Nachwalter. This is the place I met our NY Pipe Club's first president and founding member, Sailorman Jack. Needless to say, this shop has the fondest of memories for me.
In terms of tobacco blends, I started out with Gramercy Park, which is a tasty aromatic as you know, but when my tastes changes, I locked into High Hat and Wilke #10, two incredible blends!
Good luck to you and welcome aboard!
Lou NY Pipe Club

I had a second bowl of #515, this time in a briar. I think the taste is right, but it's more moist than my last batch from Carole. I am going to let the next one dry until it seems close to the old one, then give it an try. It's definitely great tobacco though.

I have finished the third bowl of #515 from the sample. This time in a Savinelli 320KS Duca Carlo. After drying, it tastes exactly like the last batch I got from Carole. A+

I just finished my first bowl of the new Wilke #191. My favorite tobacco. The new stuff tastes exactly the same as the last batch I got from Carole.

I'm working on comparing the new Brandt versions to Carole's. The Dummerston and Rumcake are exactly the same. I'm smoking 515 now.

Welcome to the Patch John!
I've yet to try any of the Wilke tobaccos. I've only ever read good things about them & I'm glad to hear they will continue to be around!

I had a few bowls of Wilke Rumcake and it's a great blend. Thanks for taking over production of these fine tobaccos, John!
