Orlik Dark Strong Kentucky and Old Gowrie are strong contenders, but I haven't smoked enough of either to crack the top five. There was a time when Penzance would have been at the top of the heap, but I have no interest in strong latakia blends these days. EMP and Blairgowrie are about as heavy as I go. I'm sure that will change again in the future.

In no particular order as far as favorite. OJK University Flake Royal Yacht Wessex Burley Slices Corn Cob Pipe Wow, someone else puts a high value on CCP&BN. I would have put it in my top five, but even I have to be in a mood for that much flavor. All told, other than Five Brothers (+2) it would be my top. If you like that you may want to give Low Country Hazelnut a go. I feel it has much of the same savory (not salt savory) flavor |

If you like that you may want to give Low Country Hazelnut a go. I feel it has much of the same savory (not salt savory) flavor I have always mixed CCP 50/50 with Cube Cut Burley. It tones it down the sweetness and ramps up the strength a fair bit. I'll keep LC Hazelnut in mind. I have been on a sample splurge lately, so I'm taking it easy for awhile. |

BY week's end, based on 30 minute intervals I should have completed my list of five. No man, not insane. It's my first list of 5. You know there's going to be more. They will probably be a bit more specific though. It is permissible, by the way, to add additional lists. Just don't use a number larger than 5. |
