Good morning...I just smoked a bowl of D&R Raccoon's Delight in a 1997 Dunhill Amber Root bent bulldog with a repair band and Cumberland stem. This was my Dad's pipe and I am honored to have it. He introduced me to pipe smoking. He once told me when he was thirteen old, his cousin gave him his first pipe, in 1959. I can only imagine the legal issues one would have today. It's become a crazy society, but that's for another forum.

Went for a two mile walk this morning with the cattle dog. Smoking Watch City Slice in a smooth 1/8 bent 2013 Savinelli Collection Volcano with a 6mm balsa filter, drinking ice tea with lemon, listening to Horse Radio Radio Network and handicapping tomorrow and Saturday's respective Breeders' Cup cards at Del Mar where the turf meets the surf.

Guessing age from your clues in past posts, pipesmoker 43 years and now 13 when you started, that would put you close to the time I started in 1972. I was fifteen.

Used to stay at the hotel right next to the tracks. Was it Executive Inn back then? Was never there for the races, though. Not good in crowds. Xuan and I had Belgian Waffles and Sausages there, our first full day of marriage. Kept looking at her realizing I hit the jackpot

I have loaded an Aldo Morelli dark sandblasted bent Dublin with some Sutliff Mixture 79. Still drinking Iced tea. I think you, Peter D, and I are the only ones who partake of 79. It has not moved to my regular list, but it's on my solid list of go-tos

And you both turned out ok. that's my point, but I'm in the minority on this one.

First in line at the DMV as people rushed the door a young man said this man is first. Piccadilly in a Micoli. I arrived at the DMV at 7:00a.m after a hours wait at 5 till 8 I started working my way to the door. That's when all the other folks rushed the door. I had a pleasant transaction and thanked the clerk for her service. I don't need glasses to drive and my new photo makes me look like Charles Manson. I waited for the young man who held back the crowd for me as he was dropped off. I asked if he needed a ride and he did. We talked for five minutes or so while I drove him to work.

Just finished up a nice lunch of salad with chicken and a bunch of veggies. Following it up with some Irish Flake I found buried in the closet. I remember not liking this very much when I cracked the tin, but a year or so seems to have smoothed out the rough edges.
