^^^ She's a beaut! Any time you change up a combo with a different color stem it enhances the look of the rest of the pipe. very deep red stain is totally nice with the off white stem

Brrr... It is cold and wet here, snow level on the mountains is dropping quickly. Snow could be here soon. I got brave and went out to smoke a bowl. Sir Walter Raleigh Aromatic in a nice old briar bent. Alas, the cold rain started up again. The tobacco is nice, my first try at this one. It wanted to burn, but I had to put it out. I figured cold rain and wind aren't good for the old body. I will fire it again one day.

How do you like the PH Golden Sliced compared to OGS? I think you nailed it on your prior mini review. Just a tad smoother? I like the long ribbon strands and the paint can is cool.

Following a nice supper of rigatoni in a nice New York style meat "gravy", a bowl of C&D's Black Frigate in a Savinelli Champagne bent Billiard. A little more red wine. This is a sturdy mixture which will induce hair on the chest.

Peterson's Sunset Breeze in an Ol-Vic.
The cabins I work at there is a young man (25-30) who is interested pipes. The other day his wife bought him a pipe from a local "Smoke Shop".it's a $10 chineese job with a metal insert in the bowl.I certainly don't want to discourage him,so I've put together a few samples to take him. Trying to decide if I should take him another pipe.I have a spare cob and could find a DG hiding around here.I want him to learn before he fires off with a true "Legacy" briar. That and I'ld be pissed to find out the pipe was just taking space in a drawer. What's your opinions, please.

Some of those 10$ pipes are not bad starters. Like Ol Ed I have a pressed meer that smokes fairly well. It's in the better half of my pipes. OK, that's a stretch. However, showing someone the pure, innocent goodness of a cob can't be a bad thing.
