I wanted to update everyone om my experimentation with the new pipe and the generous donations of lady Margaret and pistol Pete. The first thing I tried was Sterling's Klompen Kloggen. How beautiful and clean that tasted in comparison to my favorite Capitan Black. The next one I am trying is Cherrybomb by Cao. Happy smokes. so glad you like it! Klompen Kloggen is unique but awesome  |

Whoever posts the first picture of a crotchety old man smoking a pipe can have two tins of Gentleman Caller. One has had two bowls out of it and the other is unopened.

...I admire you folks for maintaining this kind of thread, and actually following up and shipping it out... unique in my experience of cyberspace/web/internet, whatever you care to call it... this is how it should be between human beings... IMHO...

I agree 100% I've received some nice "samples" of blends that I otherwise wouldnt have been able to try, without spending an arm and a leg. In return I've sent out some packages that I would have loved to have when I started out.
This pipe/tobacco community is the best group of people I've ever stumbled across, even in real life.
It's nice to see people giving and actually following through with their offer. Most of the time surpassing what they originally intended.
I've been living the last few years with a motto of "with low expectation, there is little room for disappointment." It was working well. The generosity of all of you folks here has restored my faith in humans. Maybe it's just a pipe/tobacco thing, but it's a good thing to have going on.

That's Suzy when she was a little over a month old. She and Molly used to sleep on my lap when I worked until they got too big to do that. A few times, I had to hold Molly with one hand while Suzy was in my lap. That was not easy to do while working. |
