Not that I puff much burley. I know lots of pipesters that dedicate pipes to Virginias, to avoid ghosts from Latakia, aromatics and maybe Perique. But I've never heard of anyone dedicating pipes to burleys. Anyone with insights?

I use my Ebeneezer Rhodesian strictly for burley. I will smoke burley in other pipes, but nothing but burley in the ER

I will. At least one of my soon to be ordered TBP POTY cobs will be dedicated to burley....

I tried dedicating pipes once,,,,got a headache. Anymore,I just smoke. However if I'm smoking flakes I like a wide bowl with an open draw.Flakes seem to give me trouble in a narrow bowl.I end up dumping about a third because it became one big clog.Even when I rub them out. Now my better pipes don't ever see topped goopers.

I have a number of pipes devoted to burleys as well as English, VaPers, etc.

Back when I used to dedicate, I had burley-only pipes. I used three broad and loose categories: English, Virginia, and burley.
These days, I don't dedicate anything to anything. Dedication provided no noticeable benefits.

My only somewhat dedicated Briar is my ‘63 Shell Briar to English. Of course my occasional Aros go to the Meers.

Cobs see all of my favorite burley selections. Lats go in meers. Vas and VaPers get loaded into briars.
I have a Pete 307 System Star dedicated to Mac Baren Vanilla Cream, a morning favorite with coffee. Big bowl, bold flavor. No amount of salt and alcohol would ever scare away that ghost but I like it and believe it makes for a premium experience with this one. Funny thing though is it was never planned, just happened.
I'm going to pick out another briar shortly dedicated strictly to Esoterica Dunbar and Dorchester hoping for similar results.

All my pipes are dedicated to Burleys... and whatever else I smoke in them. Like @quaffer, I never found much benefit of dedicating. Though I think that anyone like lestrout that is really diligent about sampling and observing the flavors and nuances, might see some advantage.

A little off topic, but one thing I am doing with Aros (with much success) is loading my pipe and then topping it with a burley, Five Bros, White Burley Blending Cube Cut, D&R Two Timer Regular.
The Burley takes the burn from the lighter or match, keeping the aro from boiling. The burley also adds flavor and texture.
Today I did it with Field and Stream and last night with a mixture of 2008 Peach mixed with newer peach blends.
Again, my thanks to Crapgame for inspiring me to mix all my "like" flavors together

Interesting idea. Thanks for the tip. Seems a little better with a cube cut burley or a Stokkebye Cube Cut hybrid of Burley/VA. The cut really makes a difference for topping. Sort of like coals on a fire

If you ever commission a Burley Pipe, you might want to contact a Burly pipe maker. That is him resting against a 500 year old oak.

Even though I do not dedicate pipes towards blends, I can understand why someone would want Aro/ english/ lakeland dedicated pipes, but for anything Virginia, Burley associated just regular cleaning should prevent crossover tastes. This is all the opining of mister burnt buds though.

I have tried cube cutting a time or two, I need to get a better cutting board for that though. My small tobacco try is shaped like a leaf and curved, doesn't work for cutting. I will say I like the burleys for their higher nic hit, but the english/orientals have so much more flavor. But Scotch is a great equalizer.

...depends on your palate... I don't see why not, but it's never been my thing, though I enjoy Burleys... more often than not in a cob...

Hi I have quite a few pipes and find dedicating an individual pipe to English, Virginia, Aromatics and Burley blends to be generally beneficial, especially as most of them are briars. With the array of pipes I have I could dedicate a pipe to a specific blend but that would be too much paperwork for me.lol

My pipes are dedicated to my mouth. Except my 2 narrower stacks. They get va's and va/pers only.

This is some bona fide forums necromancy.
That said, I don't dedicate diddly to squat. I love to smoke every new blend in every pipe that I can be arsed to try.

Since I can't smoke Burleys there's no need to dedicate any to them. Va's only for me!

No reason to. Burleys are the mildest of tobaccos and hardly ghost anything. Any ghosting from other mildly cased or uncased tobaccos only compliment burleys.
I do recommend you dedicate a pipe to deertongue, however. ;-)
