Death valley days? Or General Electric Theater? He has an uncanny resemblance to Bonanzadriver. Although Reagan and Ford were pretty combative in their political philosophy, it this picture of a peace pipe presentaion from Reagan circa 1980 sends a message that all of us pipers, I believe can relate to.  |

Been a long time since I watched any of his films! My first two years of college were at Ronnie's Alma Mater. Eureka? I just read that he majored in economics and sociology. I should have known he was a fellow economist.📈📊📉 |

Yep ... good old Eureka College. It sat in a "dry" county but the way the county was shaped put the next county's liquor store about 2 miles from campus! He was also a member of the TKE's (Tau Kappa Epsilon) ... noted for their rowdiness and parties.

I pledged TKE at the UofH in 1969. I swear that when I approached the house it was like a premonition of Animal House. Beer kegs stacked by the steps, whiskey bottles all over the yard, and inside there were multiple orgies going on. I had been working full time since I was 12, so this was too childish for me. I turned and left and didn't look back. I am just surprised that it has taken 50 years for the universities to crack down on this nonsense. How many deaths have been caused by the Greek system? |

Dino. Years ago I was able to meet Peter Robinson when I lived near Stanford as he gave a speech and discussion. He was the speechwriter that penned the words “Tear down this wall!”. Recently, Pat Sakai interviewed him, the story on how it all evolved is quite interesting with some humorous anecdotes. Not political, it is historical in its content. Quite an amazing opportunity for such a young speechwriter, and quite remarkable in how he made the most of the opportunity and put himself in history by the role he played. www.hoover.org/research/speech-defined-presidency |
