Got plenty of pipes...but since I stained several of the cobs...I just can't help myself, I reach for one of those cobs...They just look that good.
Found that my friend up north of me...who has more pipes by far than me...now he does the same thing..just reaches for that cob.

I smoke a pipe once in a day usually. Once in a while I might smoke the same pipe twice in a day..never more than that. IMO your pushing it after that and the quality of the smoke goes south. Not my experience at all, if the pipe is clean and you don't smoke wet.

Having over 100 pipes ( aquired over 40+ years of smoking ) I do a half a*s sort of rotation. If a pipe strikes my fancy I may smoke it 2/3 times in a day. I am a devoted fan of cleaners in a pipe right after smoking for at least 30 min. and all's been good for me for over 40+ years now. I have been an english/balkan/va smoker and not smoked many aros as most of them are Burley based and they tend to smoke wetter for me. Basicaly, do what works for you and gives you good smoking.

No definite rotation for me. I smoke what I am in the mood for. At any rate, I rarely smoke a pipe twice in a day.

Smoke them, clean and dry them. I've smoked up to six bowls a day in a pipe for several days at a time without doing any damage. I just make sure that I clean it between smokes. Usually I smoke a pipe for a day, then let it rest for a few days after a detailed cleaning. As have I, but sometimes they don't get cleaned between smokes. Sure, the bowl has cooled down, and there's no moisture in the heel when I reload with well dried tobacco. The above is mostly when I travel, seldom without at least six pipes and a half pound of tobacco. At home, I am likely to grab whatever pipe catches my fancy in the moment, and it'll rest for a day or five. I do bulk cleaning, so to speak. A dozen or so pipes get a more thorough treatment at once.

I smoke cobs most of the day while i'm working and when I'm home I smoke whatever pipe I reach for. I might smoke the same pipe several times if I'm smoking the same tobacco. I pretty much gave the briars a break this week and smoked the heck out of my cobs. Going to have to give the cobs a break this upcoming week.

I usually take out 3 pipes and smoke them several times over a 2 day period. That gives me a chance to learn the nuances of each pipe and to build cake. Of course, when I get a new estate pipe, that usually sneaks into the rotation after it's cleaned and dried

I'll smoke the same one twice per day, cleaning after each smoke, for a week before changing out.
