My last smoke of the evening is Amphora Original in the Royalton. It's been about fifty years since I last had Amphora until I got this pouch last week. Iirc, the Amphora I had all those years ago came in a green pouch (but that could be clouded memory messing with me). All I remember is that I didn't like it at all back then. But this one I like fine.

But this one I like fine. The green pouch is an aromatic, which is why you notice the difference. Not the same as the Original. Part way through this bowl of Watch City Slices in a straight 1960s Lane era Charatan black with burgundy undertone sandblasted billiard 420 and a black vulcanite stem. Cleaning a few pipes.

34F and cloudy before daybreak. Not going to get any warmer today, back in the teens tonight. Smoking Hearth and Home Louisiana Red in a Savinelli Silver 804 KS Canadian sitter. This one is silver banded and bears the familiar Sav insignia on the band. I'm drinking hot black coffee and listening to ESPN radio this morning.
