Earlier, Justin requested we not use this practice due to additional site storage requirements; however, perhaps this has changed? I hope so. I don't use photo hosting sites. Last time I logged into photobucket, I was removing viruses from my computer for the afternoon. Previous thread on posting photos from this summer: thebriarpatchforum.com/thread/1483/post-photos

A couple minutes away from smoking Jim's Va./Bur #2 in a 2002 smooth natural straight silver banded Ardor Venere Extra Fatta A Mano Maigret billiard, signed by Dorelio Rovera and a black acrylic stem. Watching the EGR marathon on TCM.

Holiday Match in a Dunhill. I'm still trying to figure out in which of my pipes it smokes the best. The cut is still an annoyance and it does leave the most gunk of any blend I've tried recently but I really like the flavor as an all day blend. Maybe I need to find and dedicate a pipe to this blend?

Paul's Darwin Asa in my Cayuga bent Dublin. I wish that Lake Michigan would hurry up and freeze over so that Stormy would leave Michigan. I’m already tired of the lake effect snows. But John. The fishing is still pretty good up here. Next you'll be telling me you can catch em through the ice 😳 P. S. LBF in a Invecta bent bulldog. Ice tea.

The "Eddie G. Birthday Treat" custom mix, concocted expressly for today. In a MM Cobbit Elf cob right now, to be followed by more of the same in a MM Country Gentleman.

A third of a bowl left of MacBaren Virginia Flake in a late '90s half smooth/half etched freehand sitter, medium bend Nielsen Viggo with a pearl brown acrylic stem. A bottle of 7-UP is my drink. Here's a great pipe smoking movie with Edward G. Robinson: I am the Law! Hell on Frisco Bay with EGR and Alan Ladd just came today. Widescreen. It took ten years to find a crappy video copy in Full Screen, as I waited and waited. They are finally putting out Alan Ladd movies, one of the better ones being The Great Gatsby. It's a short version of the story, but probably one of the best acted ones. Another Eddie G that came today was The Sea Wolf. Rumors had it, again for decades, that there was a longer version of this lying around. This is it! The full 100 min version and maybe the first Eddie G movie I have ever seen

Enjoying some OJK in the same flat bottom Legend. I got 4 of those, 4 of the Legend 5th Ave, one Patriot, and one Poker. The shank on the Poker doesn't go to the chamber wall like all the other cobs. Is that normal for that style?

Just finished smoking Esoterica Dorchester in a smooth straight late ‘50s, early 1960s Lane era Charatan Selected 43 Dublin with a black vulcanite double comfort stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad, too! My second Conrad pipe. Ice water and bergs is my evening drink.

Supper was salmon patties inlaid with spinach and feta (I cheated as these came from the Kroger seafood shop). Getting ready to settle in with Esoterica Margate in a full bent blasted Baki meerschaum poker, Dr. K Diet Root Beer and back to back episodes of the X-Files.

Is that normal for that style? From what I've seen within the 20 or so cobs I've got, the shank length into the bowl varies. I've got a couple of the same shape that came with different shank lengths in the bowl. I have some that go all the way to the chamber wall & others anywhere from 1/4 to 1/2 way into the bowl. I usually end up mudding the bottoms of most of my cobs, so I don't end up with a lot of unburnt tobacco.
