Went to the VA today. After smoking crazy stuff for forty years (some of which from my college days are buried deep and classified), I have the heart rate of a teenager, 61 bpm, and BP was 133/84. VA doc asked me if I still smoke my pipe which is part of my record. I replied in the affirmative and that was the end of the conversation. Great thing about the VA healthcare system is there's no way a disabled veteran will be told they can't fire up a bowl whenever they wish.
Celebrating with 2005 Christmas Cheer in a smooth 3/4 bent Grade P James Upshall egg, drinking Guinness Stout and tracking this week's stock market reports with ESPN radio in the background.

C&D Golden Days of Yore in an Arley Curtz pot. Not nuts about this blend. Sample from a friend. Not one I will order. Kind of plain, a little grassy, slightly bitter and a biter for my tongue.

2010 C&D Burley Flake #4 in my Paronelli olive wood Apple. Olive wood is so pretty. I like it for handgun grips, knife scales and especially pipes. I am still hunting for the right one. That Paronelli is beautiful, John.

Escudo in the Cobbit Elf. Went to my wife's Christmas party at the newly opened Mexican restaurant here. It was pretty good. Her boss gave us hand made mugs. He's really good for admittingly still exploring the wheel. A lot better than I ever was.
