Another tip I learned for fixing the gurgle is to run a pipe cleaner down through the stem into the bowl, while you're smoking it. It wicks up the moisture and eliminates the gurgle. Exactly why I prefer to smoke without filters, then again if I used filters maybe would gurgle?

Love that Grabow, Dino. From the grain of the briar- to that stem. Go, America! And now I'm on eBay. haha Packing a third bowl of Black House. I have said before how much I like this blend and ironically, the reason I'm smoking the tin is because it was opened months ago and I was worried it was too dry. I will go ahead and say maybe I've been impatient with my tobacco prior to this. It is a different smoke- But not in a bad way. Smooth and spicy. So good. And my pipe is bone dry. This turn will be in the Savinelli. Maybe my last bowl of the night. I had the same experience with Blackhouse when I started smoking it last May. I fell in love with it and have some tins I'm aging.

Embers, was that you who wrote that hilarious poem about Black Frigate on the 'other forum?'. It escapes me, but I recall a line where it mentioned sinking their ship and leaving them with Carter Hall for their pipes. Haha That be the swabbie goin' by jaytex. Was terribly funny though. Jay is way cool. I miss him

Not far from finishing this bowl of Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem. A can of the very delicious Hansen's Mandarin Lime made with pure cane sugar is my drink.

First smoke of Holiday Mix (since allergies are allayed) in an Estate Kaywoodie Rust Black Straight Billiard 2003
I got this pipe on eBay from John B (rekamepip) as an extra gift. John's pipes come as close to being ready to smoke as I have seen. A little cleaning of the bit that I would do with a NEW pipe. This is smoking well. The Holiday is fine, but maybe not an item I will keep picking up. Half a pound will do me.

I'm certainly no expert on English, but I got no aro or flavor out of it. I got a richness similar to Distinguished Gentleman, but not so distinguished. That's why I have a couple pounds of DG

After a week and a half of temps between 0 and 18 F, today it's 45 and it feels like summer! Did some chores outside and it felt great, didn't even need gloves.. won't get much more like it until March I'm afraid. Done outside, sitting at kitchen table having a bowl of yenice Agonya in a Hilson stack.
