A wet morning in the 'Pool, the clouds will clear, broke my habit and had puff on the Hardcastle and Dunhill, remembering Autumn bonfires, but a flashback to being kids. But try and be matey with many new crew. But canna' relate to masks, or veils pals.

A third of the way through this bowl of MacBaren Modern Virginia Loose Cut in a post WW2 Pre-Republic Peterson Dublin straight smooth X155 Bulldog with a sterling silver band. Still working even though Suzy's being insistent on bugging me for attention. Hope she'll settle for tuna.

How do you find the MacB Modern Virginia, Jiminks? It's a beautiful day here at the southern tip of Africa. Real nice autumn weather: temps not too hot, a slight breeze and some clouds floating by. MacB Dark Twist in Chacon canadian

Starting off my smoking day with Smoker’s Pride Natural in my old reliable 1986 smooth Peterson Kildare 999 Rhodesian. Simply Orange is my drink. Suzy and Molly were happy to see me wake up, but their enthusiasm didn't transfer to yours truly. At least not until I got smoke. I'm phone chatting with a friend and listening to her adventure about the comic book show she attended.

How do you find the MacB Modern Virginia, Jiminks? I like it. Mild to medium in strength with a semi-aromatic flavor. Here's my review of the Loose Cut version, which is virtually the same as the Flake version. The first thing you notice when you open the tin is the sweet fruity topping and Virginias. The yellow and dark Virginias offer some citrus with a few grassy notes and a little earth, and comprises the majority of the tobacco (70%). The dark cavendish is Virginia based, and adds a citrus note with a touch of honey and a bare hit of spice. There’s a little burley (10%) that is nutty with a slight sweetness. The tobaccos are pressed for thirty days and cut into easily managed small strips for easy loading. The topping is apricot and a hint of pineapple, and is noticeable in every puff, though it’s not strong enough to overwhelm the inherent properties of the tobaccos. I also get a mild fig taste. The topping very slightly diminishes a little after the half way point, and the tobacco flavor is just a little more obvious from then on. The only difference between the flake and the loose cut is the the loose cut is slightly sweeter after the half way point than the flake. The flake is just a mite fuller in regard to the Virginia. It’s a mild to medium very smooth and rather creamy smoke that burns well with few relights, no harsh or dull spots, no bite and no dottle.

Earlier, it was Jim's Half Va., Half Burley with dark fired Kentucky in a 2015 Basil Meadows smooth straight thin shank and stem with an aluminum band Bing Crosby Merchant Service replica. Needed something a little stronger than the Smoker's Pride Natural I smoked earlier, which is as plain Jane a smoke as there is.
Now, I'm half way through this bowl of newly released Lane Dark Red in a 2002 IMP smooth full bend egg shaped meer. A bottle of Sprite is my drink. Getting ready to watch the Pirates-Tigers game. Waiting for the plumber to come and fix the clogged water line so we can use the kitchen sink again.

Currently smoking Germain's Brown Flake, a gift from a forum friend in Scotland, in a Sav Venere "128" smooth billiard. First try and I'll have to wait on forming an opinion. I always have to get passed the "newness" of a tobacco, usually 1/2 a tin or more.

The last of my stash of University Flake in a 1999 smooth dark brown full bend Tim West tomato. Ice water properly chilled along with the correct number of floaty li'l icebergs is my drink for the rest of the evening. Relaxing after a wonderful spaghetti with meatballs dinner as I watch the Braves and Nats tied at 4-4 in 4th. Will work later.
For those interested, PBS at 9 pm EST is running part one of a two part Ken Burns documentary about Jackie Robinson. I'm DVRing it for later viewing.
