Snow has covered the ground here for the first time in two years tonight, maybe 3"? Smoking more Esoterica Dunbar in an unfinished Savinelli Lumberman, drinking ice tea with lemon and watching local news. Dunbar is a solid all day smoke, too bad it's so expensive.

I bought a pouch of Kentucky Club here in Mexico and it smelled so strongly of buttered rum that I cut it with Russ' Yule Log. It sort of worked flavorwise but in terms of room smell it was a disaster. Everyone and the dog got up and left.

I'm fond of anything with Kentucky in it, but the original, years ago, did not impress me enough to try it again. I sort of feel like not trying the match. Speaking of, on big orders I wish some of these places would throw in a surprise ounce of something we haven't ordered. P&C runs some great sales, so I can't complain, but if I were sent a sample of Match Kentucky I might buy a pound or two

About half way through this bowl of Director’s Cut in a smooth straight late ‘50s, early 1960s Lane era Charatan Selected 43 Dublin with a black vulcanite double comfort stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad, too! My second Conrad pipe. Watching Cannon starring Mr. C.

Here they raised pipe tobacco prices by around 25% January 1st but anything produced and put on sale before that date still has the old price so I figured I'd give Kentucky Club a chance to replace Match Holiday in my life. I'm starting to notice that whilst the brands of tobacco they sell in Mexico have the same name and packaging as those sold in the US, the manufacturer here uses their own flavorings. In any case this one is super strong and since Russ' Yule Log is not my thing I figured that together they'd surely improve. The idea may need some work.

I can't kick about the tobacco prices here, save for a few that you get no break in buying bulk, but the increase in postage has raised the cost of small orders by that percentage. If I wanted a 12 oz bag of tobacco I would pay 4$ shipping. Now it's almost double. It is double in one spot. So a bag of 8 oz Admiral's Choice for 10$ used to be 14$ total. Now it's 17-19$ total. The prices do not top out either. So you're sort of in a bad spot unless you buy enough to get free shipping. Pipe Nook has a flat fee,, but doesn't ship intnl.

lol . . . . . the dog too? Yeah, the traitor even gave me a sad look goodbye before exiting to the balcony. I'm buying the generic dog food from now on. That'll teach 'em. Amazing how discriminating dogs are. If I play my piano my dogs sit under my legs; if I start just practising scales, they leave! ...But they like latakia.

He'd never had a problem with any mixture before but there's something about the smell of Yule Log + Kentucky Club that he's not OK with...not that any one else liked either but still, one expects loyalty from their dog!
