Some of you probably remember when a fella who called himself Frenchy sold pipes online. He was one of the old-timers on ASP.we had some conversations on the phone and exchanged some emails over the years.Frenchy sold some pipes for a pipe maker that would give away pipes if they didn't quite come up to snuff. One day without notice I received one of those pipes in the mail.It wasn't the best pipe in the world.I still have it though and it smokes really good.Only now there's a problem. It has a vertical crack in the bowl from the top almost to the bottom.Common sense says trash it.It has some meaning to me though and I would like to save it if I can.The crack isn't very wide so I'm wondering if I can fill it with something. All I can think of is crazy glue but I don't know if that would work...Any suggestions?

Would need to see a pic, Puff. Is the crack on the outside of the bowl I assume? Does it go through to the inside?
I suspect even filling it, it will only get worse with time. Might be one to retire to the rack and hold on to it for the sentimental value.
PS - I do remember Frenchy. I miss him, he was a great guy. Bought some of my first pipes from him. Was a sad day when he retired.

On rebornpipes is a tutorial how to pin cracks in bowls. I would pin and epoxy it, then coat it from the inside with a thick layer of pipe cement.
