Ruthenberg does one heck of a rustication Jim, I think he would be on my short list too. Top of my list would be a Castello, specifically a shape 55. I'd love to have a Castello, too. I only have one Dunhill, probably the only one I’ll ever own. I saw a new birth year bulldog I would have loved but the $1,600 price tag was too much. I saw a beautiful Castello Sea Rock kkkk Canadian for $275 in an Etsy store I’m still kicking myself for not jumping on. Probably my only chance at one of them and I blew it. Oy.

I own several Dunhills and, with all due respect to your post and to Dunhill... they're not in my regular rotation.

For me, it would be a 1953 Dunhill (a birth year pipe). I would have to see what was available and made during that period of time, but this would be the brand JimInks...

Being a fan of English pipes, I would really like to get a nice Barling, but the prices they command, I would like to get one that is all "correct" as far as original stem, etc...but I have to do my homework before I wade into them waters.
