I haven’t seen anyone start a thread about this yet...
Who is going to the Chicago Show this year?
I will be there from Thursday afternoon until Monday morning. My reservation has already been made at Pheasant Run.

I still have St Louis this weekend and New York in March to attend first but hopefully I will be there Thursday to Monday for the 21st straight year. One of my friends gets a penthouse room and a bunch of us chip in on the small fine so we don't have to deal with the tent.

One of my friends gets a penthouse room and a bunch of us chip in on the small fine so we don't have to deal with the tent. Several of us gravitate to the hospitality suite upstairs out at the end of Golf Wing to avoid the tent crowds. It’s not well known, not easy to find for the first time, and has no signage. Unfortunately, the word has been getting out about it and more people find it each year. I stay in the Tower, but not the penthouse. Sounds like it’s the place to be though as you can also smoke and get free drinks in the SmokingPipes penthouse suite.

Yo jo
I look forward to getting in a few puffs with you again. Dave, I've enjoyed getting in a big heaping of pipe history the times I've joined you, Chuck and others in the penthouse. The old owner's suite is interesting, too, depending on which group has descended on it. And the great coffee at a room near one I usually stay at is great for winding down the wee hours and meeting some of the carvers from many countries. But, frankly, I do relish the expansiveness and diversity in the big tent. Pre-FDA, when CPCC ran the mystery blend comparisons, that was as good as puffing gets.

...wish I could bring myself to do it... weather too good here... Yeah, but can you sit and smoke your pipe with a few hundred other pipe smokers at the same time or browse through 350+ vendor tables looking at pipe stuff?

I'm going if my girlfriend will dog-sit for me. Sounds like a blast! A mecca for pipe smokers.

Manduela and Rie are going down again this year!!! Gotta keep that title in the US! In the contest, i will be sitting with Chris Karas watching him try for his fourth US championship while I try to beat him. I hope to at least make top 10 again this year.

I will be there Friday through Sunday. I was too late to get a room at Pheasant Run. I am contemplating doing the slow smoke contest. I have never participated before. I hope to meet as many of you as I can.

If you guys see Rick Newcombe In Chicago, thank him for his tribute on the pipesmagazine podcast about Lars Ivaarson, and his foresight on getting the hour long interview in his pipe dreams audiobook...had he not done so...no one else would have.

I'll be there Thursday through Sunday again. Can't wait!! Looking forward to seeing some of you there! Good luck in the contest on Sunday. I always find it interesting to see which of us goes longer. I wish they had picked a better looking pipe for this year. Yes, I hate pokers. Barry coming, too?

Don’t know which direction from Chicago, but the Columbus, OH show is in August. I’m lucky as I live about the same length of drive from both.

I'll be there, should arrive late Tuesday or early Wednesday. Be leaving out right after the show on Sunday. If not sure how to find me, just look for the tall good looking gent with a full beard...... I should have a table next to him.

Change in plans. I am coming Thursday night after work. Can’t bear the thought of facing Friday Chicago traffic.
