I recently needed to bump an order by a $1.00 to get free shipping. I decided to try some Mac Baren pc's. They are of decent quality, but too thick for some of my stems. I had the same experience with Brigham as well. Seems every time I stray from B J Long cleaners, I regret it. I do like Dills, but the price keeps escalating. You would think that a manufacturer, like Dr Grabow, who prides themselves on practicality, would have kept them affordable.

The Tapered ones (BJL) are okay. For some of my pipes I had to punk down big fortoona for Falcon cleaners.

I did the same - lucked up on someone selling a case of Peterson's pipe cleaners and got a great deal on them. I'm set for many years.

I buy whatever I get my hand on, including hobby/craft store pipe cleaners. What really irks me....the sharp burrs on the ends of the tips that scratch the smoke hole as you run a cleaner down the stems. Fuzz and lint I can deal with. Internal scratching, sucks. I have to re-cut the tips on too many pipe-cleaners with a flush-cut nipper.
I hate being turned into some pipe-cleaner Mohel.

...normally BJL and the continuous rope cleaners as I have some churchwarden and Canadian pipes in the 9 to 15 inch stem length...

to clarify: I dislike a pipe cleaner that is too thick, as they will break a thin button on a slender stem . . . . don't ask me how I know this.

I buy the BJ Long Tapered Fluffy and Tapered Bristle. I just got a nice deal at Cup of Joe for 1.49 a pack, bought 20 of each. I also keep the Dills around for a couple of pipes that need a thinner cleaner. I also like the Dill's for taking on the road, nice packaging. The last time I bought the Dill's I went with the 20 pack box from Jrcigars.

I would add that I find Fluffy PC's very efficient for cobs. Doubled over, they can chase a lot of gunk from a cob shank.

My preference is BJ Longs. They work well, both functionally and price wise. Dill’s also work well, but their cost isn’t practical when I’m buying several hundred. I’ll buy a 30 pack if I run out. When I drank, I would say you can never have enough ice cubes. Now I can never have enough pipe cleaners.
