But I have always liked recitations in music. It was more common in country music years ago, and when it wasn't "preachy" it was good story telling. They're not recitations, but "Elephant" and "Live Oak" by Jason Isbell are both fantastic modern storytelling songs.

Al is coming to town in a month and I've got a front row seat to see him. Really looking forward to it!
