Listened to the latest episode of this seasons Jools live 30 mins show on BBC I player catch up. A bit of an anticlimax after last week delight, but two acts struck me as outstanding, Boonie Raitt a striking red haired lady who performed her own song with professional artistry and fine band also an unusual duo of an African stringed kora player, and Eoropean classical cello player the brief turn did not do them justice they deserve a show of their own..

As a as a licensed radio ham I enjoy listening to hams chatting from all around the world on short waves , I do not transmit myself at present. I can smoke and work and listen at the same time on a good day. You do not need a radio to listen on short waves , Internet software defined radio allows anyone with the Internet and PC or tablet to recieve HF from all around the world , if you are interested try this website websdr.org I usually listen to the Hack Green sdr here in the uk, if you are keen , then perhaps you can study pass your easy introductory exam and get a license and transmit. google for the American Radio Relay League ARRL , and Radio Society of Great Britain for more information. It is a good hobby for pipe smokers... Enjoy folks,

Mr L. Alexander a modern American pilgrim free homesteader, from my cell in Olde Europe, dreaming of freedom, a spritual state of mind the Imperial slavemaster philosophers say, the pagan philosophers with their eugenic , politically correct , over control, believe it is all the same if you are in a dungeon or palace , but that is not the Christian way , Christian freedom & peace is on the run in this global corporate slave world , I will raise a cup to Mr. Alexander, and the freedom of the American Christian dream.

Mr Alexander blues, since closing our old village trucking club & pubs, I have never even been tempted , but they were all a short hairy walk alone in the wee hours admiring the starry sky, no problem driving, I have never had a poison fumed rust heap from hell. But now it is car orcs world , no neighbours now but commuter gogglebox residents, at each other's throats, closing churches & opening mosques from hell...bad day blues rant, sorry folks,

Watched an incredible performance by Annie Lennox on PBS this evening. Lady can still bring it, took me back to my college days. Listening to her opened a brief portal in which I could actually feel that magic again for just a few seconds at a time.
Exactly like David Gilmore sang - I saw a fleeting glimpse out of the corner of my eye. I turned to look and it was gone. I can't explain - You would not understand, the child has grown, the dream is gone.
Still, that feeling of unbridled youth was real again, albeit for a short wonderful time, in my mind anyway.
