Got in from work last night, wife check my blood pressure like she usually does. It was really high. Waited about 10 minutes and checked it again. It was still going up. 240/137. Got a little worried, so she took me into the ER. By then it was 248/148. I spent about 4 hours in there, getting drugs via iv to drive it back down. Got all sorts of tests, cat scan, xray, ekg etc. Healthy as a horse...except for that little, niggling b/p problem. Just picked up a prescription at Walgreen's. I guess its a good thing I had today off. Tomorrow, right back at it. That must have been a bit scary, nonetheless. I hope you get it lowered quick enough.

It's down to about 160/115 now. Which is almost "can't pull myself out of my own tracks" range for me. Dropping b/p that many points that fast kind of does thing to your head. I still feel a little fuzzy. Not incapacitated, just...fuzzy. A little cloudy. Hope I don't get a fractious stud colt tomorrow that catches me sleeping and takes my head off.

High BP and an irregular heart beat have been a problem of mine since I was around 14. No where near as high as that, but still runs high. When it drops lower, really quick, I can feel it.
After a year of dr visits every 2 days, they told me it was just normal for me.

You never realize how much you drop on the floor until your back is out, and you have to strategize how you're gonna pick it up.

Just got a gift from Ken (kbareit), one of his beautiful green stained country gentleman cobs and a custom tamper. Both are really terrific items and I am looking forward to breaking in the CG cob and using the tamper to top it off.
Thanks, so much for your generosity, Ken...it means alot to me.

Well I guess there is no better time than now to go till the garden.
Considering 90% of my harvest from last year got turned into baby food by my step sister... I think I'll plant the whole thing in tobacco this year! Maybe theyll get the point

Since you were doing cobs for other people I thought I'd hook you up with one you didn't have to do. By the way Ted, you should be hearing from your daughter about a package.

OMG Ken, that definitely was not necessary, I donโt deserve the treatment Iโve been getting from members of the Patch. What more can I add, other than Iโm completely humbled. Ahhhhh, wait until next month๐๐๐

I had my second sleep study last night, came up unexpectedly owing to a cancellation.
After some initial trouble I was able to manage breathing with the mask. It helped some but it is hard to tell with all the wiring and other problems like freezing in the lab.
So in a couple of weeks more, I just might be able to get a CPAP. It has taken me about four years to reach this point.

Woke up feeling pretty good today. Took my 55 year old Remington Nylon 66 22 to the range. I had a cheap BSA scope on it and I couldn't get one shot out of 10 in the 8" black. I used to shoot 98/100 on NRA small bore targets with this gun. Of course, it's been in the back of the closet for 40 years. Anyway, I take the scope off and just use the open sights. 2" groups at 50 yards. Not bad for an old man with cataracts and open sights with an old plastic gun! ๐๐๐ค ๐ค

Wife and I came down to Dallas for a night. Probably ambitious to bring the baby along. I'm about to shower then head downstairs for breakfast. I'll probably go have a bowl of Two Timer once I've got a Texas shaped waffle in me.
