 Josh, I’m the least able to give advice, we had bumps with one child, but you’re talking to him thats very good, I’m pro military, seen many f#$kups straighten up and be a credit to humanity, not saying your boy is one mind you. In other news my neighbor packrat from hell is already moving. I sure am going to miss watching them play with boards for a deck that was never going to get finished. The other bummer is I never got to see the makeshift extension cord fry like a cat fish filet. Meth heads can be a endless source of entertainment. I don't have any advice for Josh but I will tell a story. When my daughter was very young I took her to seedy part of Houston with broken cars, shotgun shacks and trash in the gutters with paint peeling off all the dilapidated houses. I asked her what she saw and what all these people had in common. She did not know what to think. I told her all these people are uneducated they are not bad people but without education your options are limited. At the age of 24 my daughter is a regional manager for Luxottica Group and I am as proud as I can be of her. There are many folks here on the forum that can tell you that education never ends and that it is the road to success.

So, I got a phone call this morning. Out of the 6 interviewed on Tuesday/Wednesday, I am on a list of one to preach at the churches to be their minister. If I get over 67% of the vote then I'm in.
I'm going to the interview tonight feeling a little awkward.

There is nothing to be awkward about, when you think on it. You will be their leader who also serves them. You know what to do. |

Ronv69 If he can make a decision and stick to it, he'll do well. I keep forgetting that times change and I'm still thinking about "when I was younger." I guess I'm catching old man syndrome. Hes signing up to take the classes for his GED on Monday. He'll be just fine. I'll have a father-son talk with him over the weekend. I knows his plans, I also know he doesnt follow through with things very often. He's at an age where he is changing daily. And welcome to the Club! 😜🤠 |

You will do fine, Paddy...just be yourself and let the chips fall where they may.
Josh's son will do just fine once he gets the discipline from the military instilled in him...sometimes it takes more than a parent can give to get the message across to a youngster.
Sean, sorry your form of entertainment is moving on..maybe just in time...you'll probably read about them later on at their next place of habitation. Just be glad that the fireworks was not next door to ya.

The meth head is still moving crap out the space next door. The trailer is gone but many many things like potted plants and boards remain. The kid I put the computer together for is out back fishing. I feel sorry him with no other kids his age around to hang out with. I am streaming some Led Zepplin out back via blu tooth for him.

Been bushogging for 2 days, cut the yard today, I really did too much these 3 days, got to pace myself, ain't a young man anymore, wife fussed at me, I'm used to that, it's like water on a ducks back, it just rolls off. Gonna take it easy tommorow, watch college football or the Astros. Oh and smoke me a Montrcristo for the first time.

Ahhhh... at the ER with the wife. Having her c section incision looked at. Has some gross stuff oozing out of it.
Should be a quick trip, but if not, I just picked up over a pound of Louisiana Red and a new Cob from my dads. It's still in the car.

Hahaha, nope! Believe it or not, the chairs in the ER are WORSE!! The dr said it was just a very minor infection and her body would have taken care of it itself in a few days.. gave her some antibiotics just so it doesnt get worse.
She thinks everything is going to kill her. I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum. Even when I destroyed the end of my thumb I had to be talked into going to the ER. 47 stitches later I was still mad that I had to go.

I'm glad it was only a minor infection. Good to have the antibiotics on hand if she needs it. That's the last thing you need when you've a newborn, let alone two.

Well my phone finally died a sad death after five years. Curse you Motorola for using cheap batteries. So I suppose it is off to Verizon in the next day or so for a new Motorola Z 5g.

It's my bday, so we went over to Rehoboth Beach for the first half of the day. I wanted french fries, ice cream, and mini golf. I was originally going to go to Ocean City, but it's bike week, and that would've been too much. Traffic was bad as it is near Rehoboth. Now headed to Baltimore for dinner. I will have spent about 6 hours in the car today. Haha. At least my food and fun quota will be filled.

MY LG flip phone spent two days and a night under water and works fine. It took a while for the camera to come back but the phone was working after an overnight drying. I am impressed.
