10 degrees below Zero this morning. Stove down to coals this morning so the house is cold. Restocked the stove and used a blow pipe to restart combustion. Sunny day with no wind, that helps.
I doubt the truck will start even with the anti-gel I added on Monday. No real need to go anywhere just now.

Dragged the hay bale cart from the barn through the snow to feed the critters out in their field. Donkey provided commentary the entire time as only he can. I have grown fond of his braying.

He would help you if he had hands...and thumbs! While this one, Eddy, is a good boy, he is not a friendly donkey. You see, he was cut by a neighbor with a pocket knife. That cannot be done to a a donkey. He will never forgive or forget. I always had my donkey stallions cut surgically by a Vet with full anesthesia. Still, Eddy has been a a help. He always guards the goats and sheep. Warns me of intruders. ALerts me to kids born in the snow, thus saving them from freezing. Years ago, we had a lion hanging out across the road at the base of the mesa. The goats went into their shed and corral. Eddy positioned himself at the gate to the shed, facing the mesa and did not move from that spot for two days. He was on post. SO, he has earned his daily apple or carrots.

To me they are God's chosen animal. They have been identified throughout history, particularly in the Bible, as a means of transportation and "trucking of goods". They are a wonderful animal and companion.

Got off work, came home, go yelled at. Left to go to my therapist appointment tment, got totown, couldnt shift gears. Eased into a parking lot, crawled under my tiny little car and realized one of my shifter levers lost a bolt. No bolt in the trunk, bit a piece of steel rod. Car is now fixed until the right bolt comes in. Got to my therapist appointment and he told me he screwed up the schedule. So now I go back tomorrow. I told the girl that was in there crying to go ahead, I'd take the one tomorrow.
Got "home" and got an attitude again.
That's the chronicle of my day.

Getting ready to head to NYC in the morning for a few days. Kim hasn't been there around Christmas so we took a couple days off to go. At least the weather looks like it's going to cooperate.

I would be mad if someone cut my B...s off with a pocket knife. I shoot back! One simply can not win a argument with a female and if you do it will be brought back up many years in the future. See Donkey for example of female. Just because Mary rode Joseph's arse but it was not a donkey they added that part later. Pretty sure God has a dog as his chosen animal. I wish I was going to New York that would be a hoot.

There is also a famous stage act in old Mexico called the Donkey Show. Don't look that up Dr Paddy!

49° with a high of 54°...sunny and bright...got the electric blanket on for sitting on the porch with my pipe smoldering and reading America as a Civilization by Max Lerner (Vol.1)...a fascinating recount of America as it grew up.

62 is our OUTSIDE temp now, and I thought that was cold (is for the valley here) We've been dropping to the low 40's at night, too cold for me to go out in the morning to enjoy a smoke before work.. I'm quite sure I couldnt handle the temps you live in. (Gosh I've become such a baby!)

The phrase But it's a dry heat comes to mind. When we first moved to the swamp may years ago I would sweat profusely it took many years to get acclimated to high humidity.

Went on a three day run, which would have been a nice pace through New Mexico... my trainer decided to impress our boss in Idaho and made it a two day run from hell... it sucked big time eating fast food, little down time, and a loss of per diem pay.... this guy is a defecatably bad trainer... (forum spell check requires me to put it that way).
I will be glad when I am on my own... I will then set the pace, dine in good restaurants, have downtime to smoke my pipe on and off the road.
