Cable, phone and internet service were out, but they're back on now. Earlier, I smoked aged Old Dark Fired in a smooth briar calabash shape 1984 Fero Danese made in Italy with a black vulcanite stem. That was followed by what I just finished smoking: Peretti Blend No. 52 in a 2003 smooth medium bend Peterson Sherlock Holmes Series Baskerville with a sterling silver band and black vulcanite p-lip stem.

What a PITA today was. Finally having a pipeful of Byzantium and my second cup of coffee at this hour. Had to re snowblow my driveway due to drifting and had the shear bolt break twice sucking up rocks, get the crow bar and sledgehammer to break up the rocks, and replace the bolt. Bah. Oh well, I chose to have a long driveway, or rather the SWMBO did. A 65 hp tractor and 7 foot snowblower moves a lot of snow, but when it sucks up a rock, ka-blammo. On the bright side, you had a couple spare shear bolts on hand. I learned that lesson the hard way once. just finished a bowl of Prince Andrew in my Stanwell Hand Made 29 Billiard.

Lane ready rubbed in the rm perkins blasted acorn. I got a sample of this from John last week and its got a discordant note compared to the sutliff version, pretty close to the same but theres definitely a sour taste coming through. I've got a couple bowls worth left so the jurys still out until I finish them up. I also haven't smoked it in the burley only cob. Arrogant bastard ale in the glass and tasting just right. It’s probably the molasses. I notice it a lot more in the revised LRR in both smell and taste compared to when LRR first came out and compared to the Match. The Match I found to be more cocoa and less molasses.

Orlik Golden Sliced in Stanwell DeLuxe 126, starting off another hectic week at work. Probably take the whole day, in between work, to catch up on the threads. Now for the second cup of coffee for the day.

Black Frigate in a Clark Layton strawberry wood bent apple. Surprisingly good mixture. Took me a while to appreciate it. On this early morning (0330), PS Luxury Navy Flake in a John Blunt Number 11 Billiard. Too early for coffee and too late for whiskey.

Captain Black Cherry in a meerschaum lattice billiard. Earl Grey tea on the side. I am finding that I really don't like Cherry tobacco.
