Smoking some Rattray's Black Mallory in a cob. It's a mild flavorful smoke but not what I expected. I thought the black cav would be of the sweet variety but it's not. It seems to have a good balance to the blend. It's enjoyable. I recently traded for some early 1970s BM, and it's a bit sweeter than the current version. I like it better. Guess they changed the formula at some point. Relaxing after a terrific chili and cheese dinner with a bowl of Stonehaven in a straight sandblasted pre-transition Barling Exel 249 Fossil T.V.F. black billiard with a silver band and a black ebonite military bit. Watching the Reds-Pirates game.

Got my mcclelland 2000 fragrant cake today. Smoked a bowl and damn no one makes an aromatic like MC. Not too heavy on the toppings and the virginias really shine through. I wish I could buy enough to cellar but I'm afraid my 12 Oz will be gone shortly. They will be missed.

ERR Match, knotty lovat. I still struggle to keep this lit. Have you tried letting it sit a bit before lighting? That should improve the burn. Don't let it dry too much or you'll have the opposite problem.

SWR in my Wessex bent-boasting a stem of the Cumberland persuasion. Smoking much better after a dozen or so smokes now. Maybe it's possible that a small obstruction has been burned free? Oh well- Never look a gift horse in the mouth.
