Just lit up a bowl of FVF in the Sears & Robuck catalog pipe. A half bent large billiard. Community coffee, neat still close at hand.

Good Morning all! Smoking some Arango Balkan Supreme in a Kaywoodie Dublin. Copious amounts of hot PG Tips tea today. Got another dusting of snow last night, bright and sunny now but still cold. This Balkan is a very nice blend for the money. For less than $3.00 an oz, it could be smoked 24/7 if one would choose. It's mild but not as mild as some blends I have smoked. Has a nice balkan taste to it, also. I get more flavor and lat smell from this than I did with the HH Latakia Flake that was way too mild for me.

I agree wholeheartedly with all your observations above. HH Latakia flake is more like HH ODF with a little added latakia, but I do have a lot of it. When it's done I'll probably just mix the above stuff. I have a couple lb of of the Arango, like it a lot. Have to say though, C&D Engine 99 has it by a nose. Speaking of ODF, I'm smoking it now in my bent Pibe Dan imitation. Then I'll go to Byzantium in a Sav.

I like burly but added to some englis/balkan blends it tends to dull the lat some. To me, at least they get dulled over like Pirate Kake and Gaslight. Those are too good blends but I like my lat to have more of a sparkle to it.

I'm not a burley lover either, but I find Engine 99 doesn't suffer for it.

I have a Yorkshire and it is a really good smoker. I have a Yorkshire sitting on my lap as I smoke my first bowl ever of C&D Briar Fox in a Don Warren morta bent pot. I really like this stuff. French pressed Starbucks something from a big bag from Sam's on the side.

First smoke of the evening; Brown Capstan in one of my new BBJ pipes. That tobacco is a first-timer for me and it sure is heady stuff, up there with the old St. Bruno, Germain's Hampton Flake and today's HH Bold Kentucky. (Excuse me. I'll have to go and open a window).
