So a lot has changed since I graduated college (1996). I’m older, I don’t weight 137 lbs, Murray’s no longer makes Dunhill, but what’s most frustrating, is now everything is online.
I need to set up at least three separate accounts for email, homework assignments and something else. I don’t understand it. I’m a person to person kind of guy. I guess I’m antiquated, but I’m happy with that.
I’m about halfway through a bowl of GLP Stonehenge in a Peterson Killarney bulldog with a diagonal band and vulcanite p-lip stem. This tin is from last June, and I’m noticing shiny little crystals on the flakes. I know it’s not mold. Could it be sugar? I heard that’s a myth. My drink is a Diet Manhattan Special, on the rocks.
The one positive change is my Mets are off to their best start ever!

well, I was told that my smokes were missed, so I took notes yesterday as I was at the smoking lounge, lol. I started off with Wilke's Sailor Jack in my Big Ben Sylvia 827 Rhodesian. This is a blend with cigar leaf. I have tried three other blends with cigar leaf, all C&D, and the cigar leaf took center stage, so I was expecting the same with this blend. Not so! It was a well balanced blend, I could barely detect the cigar leaf, but I did detect it. It seemed to be about a medium strength blend to me and rather nice. I was very pleasantly surprised. Next was Wilke's #72 in my estate Savinelli University. It was a very pleasant smoker, quite balanced. I followed that up with Wilke's #524 in my Dr Grabow Royalton bent bulldog. All I can say is WOW! I loved the aroma in this blend, very different than the other two. I am assuming it was the Turkish Yenidje standing out to me, but as far as I know I've never had it so I have nothing to compare it to. I moved on to Wilke's Crystal Palace in my Savinelli Pietro 626 Rusticated. This was a pleasant, mild and mellow blend. I finished up my Wilke samples with Vermont Maple in my grapeleaf meer. A nice, pleasant smoke that was not overly sweet, just a hint of maple. After that I was ready for a change of pace and lit up some Sterling's Balkan Sterling I got in trade from Chico in my Savinelli Professor. I really enjoyed this blend. It was medium strength to me, balanced and pleasant. So, at this point my time at the lounge was coming to a close (I leave there in time to run by and collect hubby from work) so I ended on a sweet note by smoking Cult Blood Red Moon in my grapeleaf meer. I was sipping Coke Classic Looks like today I'll get to sit out in my yard with a book and a pipe That sounds like the perfect day!
Indeed it was! Also, baseball was on the telly

It really doesn’t get any better. I’m really curious to try Sailor Jack. You’re the second one person that’s had positive things to say about it. My only question is does the Latakia overwhelm the other baccos?

Part way through this bowl of MacBaren Burley London Blend in a 2001 black sandblasted three quarter bend Rinaldo Lithos YY bulldog with a tortoise shell acrylic stem. I haven't had this blend in a while, and thought I'd revisit it for an ounce worth while that lasts. Glad I stocked up on this one. I have 1 tin with some years on it. Tempted, but would be sad to finish it.

Starting off a new month with C&D Yorktown in a brown straight smooth Paul Perri billiard with a black acylic tapered stem. Working and listening to the MLB talk on the XM. We had a record month in March. Let's see if we can get to 3,000 posts this month! Do you ever get to 100 pages? Edit: That would be a 'no' considering March didn't get to 100 pages and it was a record month.

Well, that last smoke went fast. A minute or two away from smoking D&R Winter Gold in a 2002 IMP smooth full bend egg shaped meer with a black acrylic stem.

no, not for me. as i said, it seemed very balanced. i know the description says it's a latakia and VA base, but it worked and nothing overpowered.

Now smoking Skandivanik Regular in a 2015 smooth unfinished Savinelli 320KS author with a black vulcanite stem. Ice water and bergs is my evening drink. Watching Virginia City. I'm a big Bogart fan, but they should have known better than to have portray a Mexican.
