A bowl of Ye Olde Stryder! A blend I love so much that I'm honestly terrified that it will eventually lose it's special appeal. I could almost sell my entire cellar to buy nothing but it's components. I think tomorrow I'll go to work on something new. Seems silly to mix up my own smoke when there are so many I have yet to try, but it's fun and sometimes fruitful and if pipe smoking isn't a good time, why bother, right?

A 50/50 mixture of Casey Jones Hero's Blend and Carter Hall in a MM Country Gent with and amber stem. I got the Hero's blend in some promotion. It doesn't suck, but I won't buy it. The 50/50 mix is pretty nice.

Folded an Astley No. 44 flake and stuffed it in this Willmer brandy. Didn't come close to filling it up, but was a good smoke nonetheless.

The 50/50 mix is pretty nice. Haven't had it, but how do you feel about Last Ride? Let me just say that I'm not a big Aro guy, but I like this enough that I'll probably never buy a pouch of Hero's Blend, because that's money I could have bought a pouch of Last Ride with instead. Haha

2006 dtm midnight ride in the mm lil devil acorn. I dont have a drink for this smoke since Im silly. Nearly mr almost 4 s bed time and its been a lot less of a struggle since he has been de tved for the last few weeks. He's still rotten but expressing himself a whole lot better using words instead of volume. And that helps keep the peace a little since he's always loud anyway.

Enjoyed a terrific salmon and potatoes dinner with freshly baked oatmeal raisin cookies for dessert. Now smoking Brunello Flake in a straight smooth patent era 1952 Dunhill Bruyere ODA apple 806 B124 with a black vulcanite stem. Have enough left for one more bowl. Watching the Braves-Reds game.

Cd bluegrass in the rm perkins fantasy series dublin. A leather rusticated dublin with a little flare at the joint and a black stem. I forget the stem material. Debating ipa or whiskey. Leaning towards whiskey after getting terrorized by a 40 lb monster.

Oorah! my first pipe of the day, after my first meal 44 hours. Colonoscopy prep, no food, no wine all that time. I just ate a breakfast that would have fed a squad of Marines coming in from a five day patrol. Now, a bowl of HH ODF is sublime in my goblet stack that holds nearly 8 grams of tobac.
I can relate to that, I've seen hubby do it!

Sutliff Holiday Match in an MM CG sporting my bent churchwarden forever-stem from Walker Briar Works.
Talk about 'stars aligned!' This is a smoke reminiscent of the first time mozzarella, tomatoes, and fresh dough came together. Forgive the the hyperbole, but I love good, simple things. Just bending the binding on my copy of Shardik. I loved Watership Down as a youngster and always meant to give Richard Adams' other works their due- Seems a perfect night for just that.
Catch you guys later.

Been a busy smoking day today, but somewhat boring. Mostly Kendal Flake in a the Corsica and basket Dublin. I did have some 965 for lunch, and it was a very nice change. I like they way the Lakelands set up my taste buds for English blends. And the 965 seemed to make the next bowl of Kendal better as well. Or maybe I'm just goofy

Just finished a bowl of C&D Red Odessa in my old battered Jarl Billiard, the second pipe I ever bought in the PX at the Marine Corps Air station in Beaufort, SC. Still smokes wonderfully after 45+ years, the first few of which it was dragged around the world in a seabag. This tobac is very like SOTE flake.
