So I continue to dabble in blending my own tobacco, trying every bottle in my liquor cabinet, waiting a month and some work some don't! LOL Last night the wife said she could do a better job than me in 1 hour! Sooooooooo, I gave her 2oz's of my tobacco that I use, poured in about 1/3 rd of a bottle of white rum, and turned it on, slowing adding the tobacco until it was all mixed. She left it for about 45 minutes, then drained the excess rum and put the remaining "mess" on a cooling rack, after an hour she said it was ready to smoke! Here is the amazing thing, after all my science experiments, nothing has tasted as good as this! smoked like a dream! I was totally lost for words! So, this weekend, I am stealing her kitchen tools and going to experiment even more adding mixes, fruits etc Anyone use "different" methods for creating their own blends? ?

I have wanted to use a meat grinder on some leaf to get some cube cut. I also have a blender handy, but most of the tobacco I have here is already cut.
I have gotten lucky mixing vanilla and peach tobaccos and moved onto other fruit the last few days. I may have to rethink the blender as a mixer more than a grinder.
Good call

What other fruits are you going to try?

Wonder how fresh lemons, oranges, or mandarins would go over with some bright Virginia(s)? Would it mold?

What other fruits are you going to try? I've put some lime in de coconut into the peach, mango, apple, orange blends. Yes, I sacrificed some Exotic Orange. I will be putting some banana in it. I have some bastard Sutliff Banana, which is pretty good. A few extracts coming as well. Lime is a little overpowering in tin note, but the taste is okay. What I started with was dumping all the fruit blends that I could not get a lot of flavor out of into the same tub. The flavors actually worked off of each other and increased in potency. Also put some of my ten year old Peach Melba and Mango Tango in it. The age really gave them a sweet, pungent note that blended down really well.

Wonder how fresh lemons, oranges, or mandarins would go over with some bright Virginia(s)? Would it mold? As much as I love lemon I would not use that. You might have more of an issue with fermentation than mold, which would be a good thing. The actual fruit juice (not outside rind which can mold) is acid enough to avoid most issues. I keep a bottle of PG around, Kosher PG, food grade. I wipe jars with it or add a few drops to blends (with water). It seems to facilitate moisture absorption. PG is not to be feared, just not overused

That was my thought as I read through the thread. Zest is the best aroma and flavor of almost any citrus fruit.

I tried the wife's essential oils, very difficult to get the right amount of drops, so I ended going back to actual fruits!

This afternoon's experiment,
Had the peaches left over from a mason jar of Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine, I broke them up and added them to the blender, the aroma was wonderful, mixed in the tobacco and once dried, put them back in the same mason jar the peaches had come from, going to let it sit for a week, if it works, I have a cherry moonshine which I will try next!

I got my orange and banana extract in the mail today and added them to the fruit salad. I smoked a bowl and got some essence of flavor, but it does need to sit a while. Yesterday I thought I had put too much lime in it, but today the lime blended down. I had read where alcohol does not do the tobacco very well, so I wonder if the liquor blends use a bottle of liquor that the distilled away the alc and saved the essence.

The title of your post got my attention because I use a blender to chop up rope and plug tobaccos for smoking. Saves a lot of time and gives a uniform consistency. I cute the ropes into coins first.
About your question, I use Myers Dark Rum to blend my Navy cake blend. But I haven't tried using the blender for mixing it. I spread it out on cookie sheets and mist the rum onto the tobacco. Then I turn it and keep applying it. I also add a half teaspoon of vinegar to the applied spray.

I tried the wife's essential oils, very difficult to get the right amount of drops, so I ended going back to actual fruits! Dilute the drops into alcohol (such as everlcear). It makes for a much more accurate method. The tobacco can then be left to air dry, allowing the alcohol to evaporate.

My guess is it breaks down some of the fibers and helps absorption.

I admit, I am somewhat curious as to how this experiments turns out along with the photographic tutorial. Thank you for allowing me my twisted vision of the outcome. ExChef

I've tried these and DoTerra essential oils (which my wife uses) and its much more difficult to judge adding drops to the mix, will continue with the experiments!

It adjusts the pH slightly and acts as an anti-fungal.

Doesn't the sugars from these fruit and spirits infusions "burn"? Seems to me the tobacco just needs to be plain.
