We took our oldest to Sioux Falls for his appendectomy follow up. All good! Stopped in Eastwold Smoke Shop for a look around. Great selection of cigars. They have a bunch of re-branded aromatics sold in bulk and a few tins. The pipe tobacco wasn't a great selection and a bit high priced, but they have a decent selection of Italian basket pipes. I picked up a tin of Elizabethan Mixture and a sandblasted bent Rhodesian. The gentleman helping me was very helpful and apologized for not having a better selection of pipe tobacco and he sells to regular customers based on what they smoke regularly. He was very polite and helpful. The next time we go to Sioux Falls they will get my business again.

Always room for a new pipe! I can just hear my wife... "do you REALLY need another pipe? You can only smoke one at a time." Glad to hear the checkup went well and you scored a new pipe in the process.

Look in her closet and "Do you REALLY need another (Insert her favourite piece of clothing here)? You can only wear one at a time."

Awesome reply, but (thankfully) she's not even that kind of woman...although she DOES have a candle addiction so I could go with that line of argument.

Unfortunately, there aren’t any major American cities near us (Minneapolis? Lincoln Nebraska?) In the last year, two of my regular b&m stops have closed down (in Williston ND and Minot ND). Bismarck ND still has a small b&m but tobacco selection is limited to PS and Lane bulks, codger blends, and a couple CAO tinned aromatics. Support your local b&m! When they’re gone, and internet purchases are a thing of the past, you’ll be sorry.

But the guy who owns my local b&m acts like he wants it to close by driving customers away with his rudeness.

How much can you take back with you duty free? Anyone else traveling with you should count as a mule?

The limit for duty free (if staying more than a couple of days) is 200 grams per person. So with my wife’s limit, that’s about 14 oz.
I have ordered from smokingpipes and had it shipped to the hotel in the past. It does take some foresight though (some of our trips are spontaneous).

14 ounces.... Jiminks smokes that much after polishing off his fried egg breakfast!
If I were king for a day, there would be no such thing as duties... That really sucks.
