Almost finished smoking Jim’s B Blend in a smooth 1979 Chippendale (Charatan second) Rhodesian 49. Up early helping m'lady with her basket weaving projects. She does the weaving. I move stuff where she needs it. Suzy and Molly supervise.
Started my day off with a tasty breakfast of poached eggs on toast and a half grapefruit. Have now retired to my desk to get some work done.
Watching the gloom and rain while puffing on a bowl of Royal Yacht in a Windjammer Bing.
"People are not made better by a briar. An idiot before smoking a pipe is still an idiot after smoking a pipe, they're just more likely to speak less drivel with something in their mouth. For that, all society should be grateful."
Whilst y'all are starting your day, I am finishing my work day here on the Dark Continent with a mix of Carter Hall and Van Erkoms Fox in a MM Legend...instant coffee on the side. Bit of shopping and then home where a Peterson pairing (and 2 fur balls) await: University Flake in a POY 2007. Have a good weekend.
Afternoon gents! Like Anton, it's the end of the day for me as well. The weekend has arrived! Nothing major planned, but most certainly it will involve a bit of pipework. Morning Drive in Canaan Pipes olive
Half way through this bowl of HU Directors Cut in a 1982 smooth straight Dunhill Root Briar 31051 Dublin with a black vulcanite stem. A bottle of Mountain Dew made with pure cane sugar is my drink. Watching Gunsmoke.
Half way through this bowl of Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem. A bottle of Orange Nehi made with pure cane sugar is my drink. Watching the Yankees - Red Sox.
Now smoking Player’s Navy Cut Flake in a much cherished smooth straight grain three quarter bend 1979 Becker M 4 heart brandy.
So the "IRS" called me and threatened to arrest me if I didn't pay them. I sure wish I could tell you the game I played with the fake with the Indian accent, but it wasn't quite PG rated by the time I told him what I was going to do to him when he showed up at the house. I begged him to come over with the police, but somehow, I just don't think I'll be seeing any of them. I'm thinking about calling him back later in an Indian accent and tell him I'm the IRS, and am coming to arrest him for fraud. Wonder how that's going to go?
Smoking on small metal Prince bowl of Saint Bruno as a starter, listening to Carthusian chant, it is going to be a long night this weekend. I went to a family funeral, the word of the holy priest at the chapel moved me. A young lady Afghan veteran corporal in uniform also moved me, us epigone generation....I have a Mac Baron HH Old Dark Fired Flake rolled in my Olde Medico straight Bulldog for later. I will crack open a bottle of Red Flag Whiskey...........GW.
Part way through this bowl of Smoker’s Pride Natural in my old reliable 1986 smooth Peterson Kildare 999 Rhodesian with a black vulcanite stem. Ice water properly chilled along with floaty li'l icebergs is my drink for the rest of the evening. Watching Red Sox's David "I took steroids" Ortiz blow his cool after two bad calls as he struck out.
A few minutes away from smoking 2012 Rolando’s Own in a smooth straight WW2 Pre-Republic Peterson Sterling Canadian with a sterling silver band and a p-lip with a black vulcanite stem. Working and listening to the MLB talk on the XM.
Last smoke of the day is 1970s Edgeworth Aromatic (Red) in a light brown 1979 rusticated medium bend Italian Sir Jeffrey Dublin sitter with a flared top and yellow stem with a black vulcanite stem. Time to play with Suzy and the very desperate Molly.
Feeling better every day, but still can't taste or smell anything, so no point in loading a bowl yet. I tried it yesterday but could hardly appreciate the Comoy's cask #11 to it full glory. Watching an episode of Wagon Train (1959). I do love my westerns... next on the dial will be Gunsmoke, The Big Valley, and Bonanza!!!
