... As soon as there's money involved, my principles go out the window. It's expensive having principales; I wonder if this is why the rich tend to be presented as caring about 'honor'?

I spent my all cash on dunhill and syrians and then Bam Mcclelland goes under and everything was gone in a couple of weeks at normal prices. Still got some but all the red blends were gone by that time. I know there are people on this board who hoarded more than they will ever smoke. so share the wealth! I had a lull in my slush fund at precisely the time news came out about McClellands closing, I also found myself late to the game... I have probably 16 tins of Christmas Cheer, 1 each of 22,24,25,27, and dark star in 100 gram tins, 4 beacon , and 4 other various small tins but I still feel underfunded on the McC’s. I told everyone in the club to stock up in January and that Ye Olde's had 40th, Frogs and other still in stock the morning of the January meeting. I had winter cash lull too but I'm gambling on a low output blend that I hope in time will be the next Bohemian Scandal if not it's one I would smoke.

Yeah... I remember, that was the same time my wallet assumed the name “Slim”.

I have not seen a B&M Tobacco store for many years. Fondly remember my usual haunts years ago in Los Angeles, San Francisco and London. J.J. Fox was a trip back in time to a more graceful age. There was a newsagent shop near where I lived in London who kept me stocked with Senior Service cigarettes and tins of pipe tobacco. A cheerful Pakistani gentleman who was always glad to see his American customer. I gathered some of the more local residents were not always friendly, lol!

I have a friend that married a Brit, I was invited over when her mother was in town, and she let her views be known on “Paki’s”. “They don’t asssimilate like Indians” was her view, it sounds like that wasn’t the case with your shopkeeper. That is the way it goes, I reckon.

More and more B&M's are going out of business because we (smokers) are not frequenting their stores, sad but a sign of the times!
