...just found out my daughter is dating a guy in a fairly well-known metal band... don't know much about Metal these days, but Led Zeppelin hit when I was in High School, so...
I approve.

...daughter instructed me not to say at the moment. That's no fun. Now we've gotta guess. Is it 'not saying' if we whittle the options down and stumble on the right band?

Thats my kind of music. Im one of the odd ones that finds metal music calming to my brain and soul.
I listen to everything from the last 80 years but metal is my thing.
Interested in finding out who it is.

Assuming she lives in San Francisco (which is a REALLY BIG assumption)...after a google search I'm guessing Faith no More.

I agree too old for my daughter, but Alice Cooper is a class act, he is a local guy here in Phoenix, and is very generous with his time and money...I think he has been married to Sheryl since 1975...back in her prime he dated Raquel Welch.

I feel for you. We just have one son. I see fathers with their precious little girls and I am jealous, but then I read this and realize how lucky I am not to have daughters. I would be the crazy dad in the hedge with a shotgun.

The key here is in the phrasing. "Fairly well known" rules out the guys most of us are thinking.
And Alice Cooper? Metallica? Even if she were dating an older rocker like them, those guys aren't "fairly well known". They are VERY well known.
Hmmmm...

My son is over 50 and married. He's been a truck driver for 15 years. He's well able to take care of himself.I still concern myself about his well being though.I can only imagine how concerned I would be if I had a daughter. My wife and I both wanted a daughter as well as a son but it wasn't to be.It seems to me that those who do have daughters are indeed lucky.

I have one of each, both are adults, self-sufficient and genuinely nice, polite people. I am lucky.

I had never heard of them, but they seem to have been around for a while. Daughter sent me a link to the lead guy (the one she's seeing) doing an solo acoustic thing... and I quite liked it.

Nice!
I too have always wanted a daughter of my own. I met my first wife when she was already pregnant and the guy took off. She had a girl that I have raised even throughout and after our divorce. We talk everyday. She is mine as far as I'm concerned. She just turned 17 2 weeks ago.
I guess I was given 3 boys (ages 15, 8 and a month and a half) after that because the universe knew that my blood pressure could not handle another girl to watch over. Haha
For what it's worth, I wish your daughter and her guy nothing but happiness.

HA! I'm actually fan! I never would have guessed them in a million years. Mainly cause she said 'well known.' Asside from my friend Jeff who is maybe their biggest fan, I don't know another person that would know who they are.

When you said well known, I assumed it would be some pop group from the radio like Five Finger Death Punch or Avenged Sevenfold.
