Anyone know of any good shops in the city or St. Louis County? I will be down there for a few weeks time starting next week.

STL is a great pipe town but no retailer wants to run a museum. I've been to JC Dengler, Jon's Pipe Shop and JR's in STL the past few months. Jon's doesn't display much pipe wise but they're a PPD and the Sillems importer among others. They are not warm fuzzy people unless you know them but he is a major player in the pipe world.

There is a cigar shop on The Hill www.hillcigarco.com/ with a boffo looking lounge. I have no clue if they sell pipes or tobacco, but if it's to sit and enjoy a smoke this might fit your bill. Again, I cannot be sure, but I don't think "No Smoking" has hit many of the bars here, either, so if it's just a place to smoke, that's a possibility. Here's a place that may have some promise. It's near Dogtown or West of it. tophattobacco.com/ At least he shows his inventory and does not seem too out of line for a B&M. This and the Hill I would def call first to find out a little. I am told John Dengler is a shadow of its former self. Back in '75 there was no finer. However, it's a good drive from StL County, even on a good day. The only Tinderboxes I am aware of are either way north in the north part of the county. The other would be in Saint Clair Square, IL. If these are open the St Clair Square is a nicer drive. I saw an ad for a Tinderbox in Manchester, which would be Mid-County. Site didn't work, so probably closed. Was a Hookah place that sold tobaccos and cigars in Kirkwood. Nice place. I was there the last time I was out of the house, so five or six years ago. Can't find it, but may not have hit the right keywords. Kirkwood and Dogtown in Saint Louis are older, but trendy areas. If I can think of any more I'll chime in again
