Here's my review of the soon to be released in the USA, Amphora Virginia.
The Virginias provide some earth and citrus, a little wood, toast and dark fruit, a couple spice notes, and a hint of a rough edge, sugar and tea. The taste and mellow sweetness levels are a couple steps closer to mild than they are to medium. The strength is mild. The nic-hit is mild. Won’t bite or get harsh. The tobacco is mostly broken flake, but easy to pack and break apart a little further if you wish. Burns cool and clean at a slightly slow pace with a very consistent, fairly smooth flavor. Leaves very little dampness in the bowl, and requires a few more than an average number of relights due to the cut of the tobacco. Will burn to ash. Has a pleasant, short lived after taste. A rather easy going all day smoke with a very slight smoky, tangy quality. Three and a half stars out of four.

Thanks for the review Jim! Just as I'm really enjoying Amphora original blend, now they're coming out with Virginia Flakes. Swell

Sounds tasty. Thanks for the review, Jim! You are such a good reviewer! Thank you for the compliment. I think this blend does very well for an all day smoke. Not very complicated, but fairly smooth with a good flavor, and easy to puff while you go about your daily business.

I love Amphora Full Aroma and Rich aroma tobaccos, and I'm really wanting to try this one. Anyone know when the large online US tobacco vendors will start selling it?

Iwan Reis has it, which means the others may have it before long.

At SP sales chart, it has gone from Zero to 300 in 24 hours. Pretty decent start. I noticed a few members here have helped it along.

By the way, thanks for the great review, Jim.
4noggins now has it and I ordered 10 pouches. Never having tried it, it's a bit of a risk, but I love all the other Amphoras.
My only fear was that it might bite, but according to all the reviews I've read so far, it smokes as cool as the other Amphoras.

Now charting at #62 in sales. That's a rapid rise and looks like it is well appreciated. I will be trying it for the first time, later today.

Where do you find the sales rankings TF??? They are on the description page, to the right. Also, SP has tabs to see top selling bulk & tin on the home page under the tobacco tab.

Smoking in progress report: A rather polite blend. Bowl temp is commendably cool and I am picking up that tang, which presents as a subtle sweetness. This is a follow up smoke after Mac B. Burley Flake* and they make a complimentary pairing. * Do on site reviews have any influence on me? Nah!

Tobacco arrived, and after smoking 4 large bowls, I have to say that I am impressed. Upon opening the pouch, I was greeted with long pieces of beautiful dark brown broken flake. The smell was of natural, grassy/citrus Virginia. I could not detect any added flavoring. As I do with all Amphora blends before smoking, I microwaved some on a small plate for 20-30 seconds before packing. Upon lighting, that lightly sweet, grassy/citrus flavor of natural Virginia tobacco came through nicely. No bite or burn at all like I got so many times from Virginia No.1. I am so impressed that want to repeat again how smooth this blend is for a straight Virginia. The only problem I encountered was lighting and keeping it lit. So after the second bowl, I decided to fully rub it out after microwaving. Worked wonderfully. It lit easily and burned well all the way down to the bottom. Room note isn't great, but is tolerable. But that's understandable because this blend is not in any way an aromatic. I think Jim's review was spot on. This is a wonderful tobacco that has no detectable added flavoring, smokes cool, and tastes wonderful. It really is an all-day Virginia blend. An instant classic.

just wanted to add, if you have a pipe (s) that smokes hot, this blend will civilize it. This cool running aspect in regard to bowl temperature, is the frosting on the cake with this impressive blend.
