I don't know if something like this already exist, but I had a neat idea. I know we have a thread for what everyone is smoking during a given month but what if we started a thread at the beginning of each month where one particular user picks a readily available blend and everyone who wants to participate could smoke said blend and review it. I would think that the rights to pick the blend would be left to those higher posted members but any who wanted to could order the blend and give it a try. Since it would only be one a month it wouldn't be too costly to those who wanted to participate and if you didn't have it you would have a whole month to order some. This could also be great way for some of us new guys to grow a cellar. Just some thoughts, what do you guys think?

Would need some time to get the blend. So, if posted each month for the next month we would have to get it in stock. Wouldn't be too hard, as a couple ounces can be had with 3-4 bucks shipping if you don't want to go the full free ship route. I often by a couple tins mid-month from SP, example being HG Mild Orange.
Anyway, I could go for it. Not sure how honest of a review I would give with Bob's Chocolate Vietnamese Pig-Tailed Macaque Poo, though

I suggest either one of the moderators or Beardedpipesmoker set up a thread with the basic rules and try to start the month on the 16th (after pay day and so we don't have to wait until June). If the blend for the month is chosen a week or 10 days before the start of the month it'd give everyone time to acquire it. On the first of each month someone could be chosen to pick the next blend via PM and they'd have time to gear up and set up a new thread. |

I'm fine with starting a rules thread but I don't want to step on any toes if one of the mods would rather do it. I think it would be a good idea to decide on a blend to start with for mid month.

I'll go ahead and post some potential rules here and you guys can decide if you you like them or not.
1. All tobacco considered for blend of the month, BOM, must be readily available.
2. Post should be kept mostly relative to that month's blend in the thread
3.each month to appease all smokers the blend will switch from ago to non-aro so for instance if the first month we picked a non-aro the next month we would pick an aro and so on
4. Whomever's initial "review" receives the most likes for a given month will select the next month's blend
5. Blends for next month will be determined within 7 days of the first of the upcoming month.
6. If you don't like my rules let me know because I'm totally open to suggestions lol

Well, I suppose yes, but I really mean something that is easily obtainable. For instance, I wouldn't suggest doing like FMC since it has been discontinued. Another example would be Rattray's Exotic Orange, right now it is out of stock everywhere. That is what I mean. |
