So that is the Lakeland essence - the stuff off the bottom of your shoes that lingers on the floor....

Great photos. A modest factory that produces outstanding tobacco.

Marvelous photos. Thank you for posting them. Some of my favorite tobacco. Kendal and the Lake District are an enchanted place.

Thanks for sharing those interesting photos. A great pity that we can't get Gawith & Hoggarth tobaccos here in Denmark.

Thanks for posting these pictures, trailboss ! I always wondered what it looked like in their factory. I don't think they offer tours...when others asked the photographer about it, he said that he was a distributor for them...I know that companies such as theirs closely guard their processes...surprised they allowed the pics. The machine that makes the rope tobacco sits in a far more compact work area than I would have imagined...the spray bottle nearby, I wonder if it is plain water or ?

Great pics from an old time nostalgic tobacco producer. Probably been using that machinery for 100 years. The world would be a worse place without their dark fired stuff.

That guy must have felt like Charlie Bucket after winning the golden ticket.
Next time somebody criticizes a blend for being "floor sweepings" I'm going to point them to this thread. Apparently some of my best tobacco friends are floor sweepings!
