I rarely see Squirt around here, when I do, I always grab a bottle. My grandfather always drank it with his Canadian Club. Drinking an Mug Root Beer right now.

water for me...I've been drinking diet Coke / Pepsi flat out for a few months now. I know, it's not the best for me. But it seems to be irritating my throat too, so water is going down well.

If your throat is still bothering you and your esophagus might also be sore, drinking carbonated beverage can exacerbate the problem. Drink water and ices tea. Even fruit juice thatβs high in citrus try and stay away from until you know whatβs going on with your throat.....feel better. Gargle at night with whiskey.....then spit out. For me thatβs all I was ever able to do with whiskey.....spit out!

On my second mug of Earl Grey- So good.
I've had gout for over a week now, so I remain on what has been the longest sober-streak of my life (two weeks or so) since the Army. In all honesty, I feel pretty good aside from my foot issues. Maybe it's time I considered giving up the Nick Nolte life. I'll always enjoy wine, bourbon, and scotch, but I think my days of sitting on the porch- drinking a case of PBR twice a week are over.

A Tanqueray Martini.
1/4 oz Red Vermouth, 1/4 oz Dry Sherry, 3 oz Gin.
Shaken over ice and poured into a whisky tumbler from Scotland.... that'll fix em. A fat pimento stuffed green olive and a black Greek await their marination. Sometimes, there is a close of pickled garlic, if I am feeling reckless.

Just putting the finishing touches on a bottle of Laphroaig Brodir (non-numbered batch). The 2013 Cairdeas is still a better expression matured in Port Wood, but the Brodir is yummy.

Store was out of Beefeater. Had to settle for Plymouth. Not the Navy Strength but the 82 proof. Floral without being overpowering. Remarkably smooth. Neat. Olives on the side.
