Smoking a pretty good hausegemacht blend, slowroll mystery Balkan. Latakia, Dark Fired Kentucky, and McC 2050. Mystery, because I have no idea what's the secret sauce in 2050, but it reminds me of the floral, herby, spicy note that old Balkan Sobranie had.

Peter Stokkebye Luxury Bullseye date on jar 2010 Pipe of choice: my Aldo Velani smooth briar Octagonal pipe with a wide comfortable stem. This pipe has a stunning grain. Can you tell by now I enjoy Aldo pipes. Made from a well known pipe family in Italy....Cesare Barontini. I own one Aldo and it’s from the Ultra Series and originally sold for $150.00...not what I paid for it, but I rarely smoke the pipe due to the fact when the briar gets warm and I hold the pipe the RED stain gets all over my fingers. One day I will post a picture....before I refinish the briar.  |

MM Great Dane tobacco date on Mason jar 2011 Pipe of choice: an Eagle Claw Egg I purchased in an open air market in 1987, while visiting Turkey. Back then I paid $20.00 US dollars for the pipe. I figure there must be over 4,000 times by now that I’ve smoked this pipe. Still a good smoker!!!  |

Still can’t sleep.....so......
Newminster #400 Superior Navy Flake date on jar 2011. Excellent inexpensive flake, gets better with at least 3 years of aging
Pipe of choice: Scott Thile sandblasted Lovat pipe. Another of my eBay finds a few years ago.
