Loaded up the new Paronelli with some Lane Ready Rubbed, followed by some EGR. One of the few times that I got screwed on Ebay. It was listed as new, and looked new when I got it, but there was some sort of strange coating on the inside of the bowl. I reamed the bowl, only to discover that the bowl was split from the top down about 1/2 inch right a the back of the pipe facing the stem. The 'coating' was obviously some sort of black epoxy that was used to fill the crack. For the first smoke (it did look new) I coated the bowl with a little honey just to give the tobacco something to stick to while it burned. So far, so good. Smokes nicely, and for $14.00 for a new Paronelli, I guess that I shouldn't complain. But I do hate it when someone gets the best of me!

This particular pipe is dedicated to Lat blends. Brother #6, scrooge gifted me a jar of that. Smoked it a couple times and it is absolutely wild. Okay, maybe not wild, but I love it. Special occasion smoke for me

PS Balkan Supreme in a Stanwell 191. Always a good smoke. Extremely righteous tobacco. It has a tinge of Penzance hwang to it. Not comparing them. Just saying it's there

C&D Bayou Night 60% and Lane Burley & Black 40% aged just over 2 years together in a Mason jar. I smoke this like a FREIGHT TRAIN and absolutely NO bite. I pack the pipe firm 3/4 of the way and get close to a 60 minute extremely enjoyable smoke.
Pipe of choice: Savinelli Series III UNFINISHED BILLIARD pipe. Has 11 huge fills but it's a superb smoking pipe. I did finish the briar with Bee's wax and mineral oil mixture. I've smoked this pipe over 650 times and the briar now developed a dark chocolate color. But the fills still stand out. This pipe should have been a Savinelli throw-out deal and not sold as an unfinished pipe. Needless to say I no longer do business with this retailer after 15+ years!

Last bowl of the day was Quiet Nights in an old Charatan. Apparently the mosquitoes were attracted to this particular tobacco and chased me back inside.

First and last smoke of the day. Sutliff Aromatic English in an undated Willmer bent Apple. I really like this stuff. Enough lat to taste like something, but no bite whatsoever, and I'm freight-training it. For a traditional kind of aromatic, I think it's my favorite.
Coffee on the side.

Smoking some 2012 McClelland 221B Honeydew in a Merkur 2000 bent heeled apple usually reserved for Ennerdale. I’m really going to miss McClelland.

Just about all the McClelland was bought up by the time I figured things out, so I never got to see what all the fuss was about.

There are just so many others that are good to great. Like the X-Files, Your Tobacco is out there
