Some like it...some love it...and I'm sure some sinners don't like it at all. I'm curious what YOUR personal preference is for this, the uniquest of tobaccos.
My sweet-spot when blending is ~15%...but I've gone as high as 33% and never complained.
Since my love for this tobacco technique runs deep, I'd love to hear what you've tossed it together with to step-up a blend.
I love this site more and more every day!

Fairly low, as too much literally makes me sneeze.

I've also gone to ~30%. But 15 to 20 is ideal. My favorite is HH Vintage Syrian with 15% perique. Makes a great tobac absolutely sublime.

I honestly don’t know the percentage of Perique in any blends that I enjoy, but I doctored a tin of OGS to make it 20% with St. James Perique, that really hit the sweet spot for me.

In the past I've mixed it with it with McClelland #5100, four parts #5100 to one part Perique. No more McClelland but it would probably perk up just about any red Va.

My Half & Half plus perique blend is about 40% and I love it.

Sounds like 15-25 is the average here. I am just getting to the point I want to add a little Perique here and a little Lat there. Mostly, so far, I am topping off some English with a little aro. Really great questions and subjects lately from everyone

In fact, I wish I had tried Five Bro when I smoked cigs. All of the rolling tobacco I bought the RYO never tasted that great. I think Five Bro would be perfect for that.

I enjoy VaPers, sometimes mild (GLP Stratford) and sometimes with muscle (St James Flake).
C&D makes a blend with 50 percent perique called Bayou Night. It also has some Latakia in it. I don’t know what to compare it to, probably nothing. It’s quite strong.

What do you think Mccelland 2015 is percentage wise?

I thoroughly enjoy perique, our 2017 club blend was in the neighborhood of 80% but you would never guess it as its a mild sweet blend and the tin note is fudge like. Im all over the map with perique, any of it in a blend will produce a sneeze or two except the club blend.

Has anyone ever tried Perique in a cigarette? Yes, American Spirits Black.
As for the OP, I love Perique. For me, it's not so much about the percent as it is about the flavor. I lean toward the fruity, figgy, side more than the spicy side but I'll take them all. But I'd say this is about the right amount...

What did you blend with it to mellow out the flavor? Was it an aromatic blend?

It is not an aromatic, and the perique itself is the decade series from d & r. I did not personally blend it, but it shouldn't be as sweet tasting as it is based on the ingredients.

I found this tobacco with 50 percent Perique:
Cornell & Diehl: Exclusive Product Number: 005-459-0053 The combination of red Virginias, mellow Cavendish, and a full 50% Perique make C&D's Exclusive a naturally sweet and incredibly spicy blend, perfect for the lovers of the Bayou-based tobacco.

If y'all love perique as much as I, check out GQ Tobaccos next week. World renowned blending genius, Glynn Quelch has returned to cook in the GQ kitchen to bring back to life some power-packed favorites such as Askwith Mixture (not kake). All the right separate ingredients are supplied in a mixture kit which the customers mix themselves and store for a few weeks to let the blend marry. Glynn no longer has a press, so mixtures will suffice with all the right stuff. Remember Swamp Flower?!!!

Bayou Night is good to me as long as I'm nice to it and smoke slow. Too fast and I get a queasy feeling. Great flavor though. Something about the sour figginess really satisfies me late in the day.
As far as percent, I'm unsure. Lighter during the day, if at all. Heavier at night.

What did you blend with it to mellow out the flavor? Was it an aromatic blend? Technically, the club blend being referred to wasn’t really 90% Perique (as I recall it was 90 not 80). However, of that percentage it was about half 10 year aged Perique and half Acadian Bright. Both were from the D&R Blender's Bench series. The Acadian Bright (if I remember the name right) was a straight Va which Mark Ryan put through the Perique process. The remainder on the blend was BCA. Put it all in a 40 ton press for a while and then break apart the resulting crumble cake.

I prefer Perique used as a condiment and not the entree. It should be used as a seasoning like salt or pepper. 15% or less is my preference.

What's some good blending Perique? I love my burleys, but I'm also a huge fan if bayou morning. That dark stone fruits, raisins and plums thing is my jam. I could see adding it to a bunch of stuff...

Thank you for these GREAT notes! I haven't tried any of the name brand tobaccos you guys/gals listed, so I need to start building my tobacco cellar.
