Sad news from Baton Rouge. Bayou Tobacco is closing at the end of the month. This has nothing to do with the FDA and deeming rules. The shop has been in business for 50 years. Mike, the owner died a couple of years ago and his wife Sarah kept the place going but they had planned to retire. She just feels now is a good time. When my son was living in Baton Rouge, I visited the shop on a monthly basis. Sorry I haven't had the time to make the drive over there for the past 3 months. www.facebook.com/events/1864472250512829/

It's sad when any business closes. It's also kinda sad when there's nobody to take on a business when someone retires.

Sad news. Time marches on whether we want it to or not.

It's sad when any business closes. It's also kinda sad when there's nobody to take on a business when someone retires. This seems to be a rather large problem in the tobacco industry between B&M's and providers. Retirement seems to be killing some of our favorite shops and blends.
