Earlier in the day I finished Season 8 of Blue Bloods........9/10 rating👍 I concur! Blue Bloods is my favorite current series. 10/10 for me. I'm looking forward to Season 9 this fall. I don't know if anybody would call it a series but the new pup and I spent yesterday bonding and watching a Jessie Stone marathon an the Hallmark Channel. Ran back to back episodes all day late into the evening. I'd already seen a couple episodes but the ones I hadn't were really good. Some pretty dark plot lines but they're a great watch. Best stuff Tom Selleck ever did IMHO. I'm a fan of the Jesse Stone films as well. I'm looking forward to watching the new one later this year.

Walkman, I’m not much of a TV watcher in my past, so a 9 is pretty darn high for me...lol. Oh, don’t forget I’m originally from NY, which also has no bearing on my score👍 My first year of forced retirement I watched ALL 13 seasons of NYPD Blue...I’d give that series 10/10👌👍👍

The last series I watched was...let' s see... I think it was The A-Team. Great scripts, outstanding cast. Nothing else could live up to it so I gave up TV when the series ended.

Another old Cop TV series that was well acted and written...Homicide Life on The Streets...9/10 well worth watching.

@lonecoyote If not seen yet, you might like The Shield and if you like it gritty and urban, you might check out The Wire.

It being EMMY season, I've been force feeding myself series in order to vote. There's a lot of great stuff on the small screen. So here are a few of my faves:
The Crown - 10/10 Victoria - 10/10 Game Of Thrones - 10/10 Suits - 8/10 The Sinner - 9/10 Star Trek Discovery - 8/10 Altered Carbon - 8/10 Longmire - 10/10 GLOW - 9/10 Jessica Jones - 9/10 Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee - 8/10 The Marvelous Mrs Maisel - 20/10 Godless - 8/10
and among the no longer in production series that I think are stand above classics I'll offer two:
Doc Martin - 20/10 The Good Wife - 20/10
Every time I hear someone say that there's nothing good on TV, I'm know I'm in the presence of an imbecile.

Excellent series, 9.5/10 rating. Also last year I enjoyed the HBO series OZ, a solid 8.9/10. I highly recommend. The HBO series Deadwood I watched in 2016, I’d rate 8.7/10 and would recommend. life’s GRAND when you become retired/disabled, didn’t see it coming and have no clue what road is ahead. For over 40 plus years I never had time for a movie or too also relax and watch a good TV series. Times have changed!!! I will add The Shield to my watch list. I greatly appreciate your suggestions.👍👍 PS ABOUT 2 months ago I enjoyed the Netflix series Longmire, wish there was another season. Rated 8/10

I agree with you on the ones I've seen: The Crown, Game of Thrones, Altered Carbon, and Doc Martin. I'd give Doc Martin a 9/10, but have only watched the first season. I keep intending to get back to that one. I'll have to check out some of the others you list, especially The Marvelous Mrs Maisel and The Good Wife. I didn't know that they were making a new Star Trek series. I'll have to check that one out too. 👍

Finished the fifth episode of Season Five, "Endeavour"- "Quartet", a Le Carre worthy spy thriller story. Great series! I've liked all of the Endeavours so far. But season 5 is not yet included with Amazon Prime, so I'll have to wait a while longer. I also like Patrick Melrose - 8/10 I'm currently streaming Snowfall which follows three story line about the cocaine trade, set in Los Angeles, circa 1983. So far I like it a lot. The Marvelous Mrs Maisel is an Amazon Original, available on Amazon Prime. For anyone who appreciates stand up and the club scene in late 1950's NYC, this is a real joy. It's garnered a lot of votes so far.

Goliath, starring Billy Bob Thornton, on Amazon. I've heard that's good too. I must add that to the list. Apparently Vikings is also a great one from Amazon.

Davinci's Inquest. Binge watched Season 1 over the weekend. Probably the best series that was ever shown on Canadian TV. The show details the career of the Vancouver B.C. Coroner and his interactions with the Homicide squad, Pathology and the Public. Very realistic, the viewer almost becomes a fly on the wall, watching life unfold. Downside is only 3 seasons made it to DVD. 1 & 2 are reasonably priced, but low life speculators are pricing Season 3 at $200.00! That insult is doubled when you factor in the entire series ran 7 Seasons.

We have been watching "Yellowstone" and so far its a great series. It looks to be both a thinking mans program and has something for the action adventure fellas. AND I'm not even a big Costner fan.

Binge watching for the Emmys. I liked Snowfall, Preacher, The Americans, Taboo, The Sinner, The Good Fight, among others.
Snowfall follows several intertwining story lines involving the cocaine trade in Los Angeles during the 1980's. It's well cast, well written, good production values, and should upset some people. 8/10
Preacher is thoroughly gonzo TV, hilariously and savagely attacking every sacred cow there is. It will upset a lot of people with "traditional" values. Sometimes I enjoy watching something that makes me cringe. 8/10
The Americans - Russian spooks in Washington DC during the 1980's. Well cast, well written, keeps you on the edge. Who knew that commie pinko enemy agents could be so sympathetic? 8/10
The Sinner - Very well paced, written, and cast. 9/10
Taboo - Set in England in the early 19th century, Taboo tells a story of moral depravity, international political intrigue, retribution, vengeance, adventure, and survival. Very well cast, immaculately well produced. Art direction and production design is nothing short of brilliant. 10/10
The Good Fight - A worthy successor to The Good Wife. Some of the sharpest writing to be encountered on the "little" screen. Well cast, very smart, excellent production values.

Watched an episode of Gunsmoke: John Walking Fox, guest starring the beloved and missed, Leonard Nimoy. He portrayed a Native American Indian with assurance and quiet dignity.
*a great line: Festus to Doc: You make me so goldurn mad I could smoke a pickle!

In the mood for something more modern, I bought the miniseries, The Bridge on DVD. A blind faith leap, I wasn't familiar with it. If you have seen it, please post your thoughts on it, pro or con.

Started watching "Shameless" on Netflix. We have binge watched half of season 8 thus far and I'd rate this series at a 8.5 American or British? I like them both personally but they are also different despite starting off similar. Last series I watched was recently with my wife and that was the current last season of Grey’s Anatomy. It was just to spend time with her while she relaxes before the new semester of nursing school starts and life becomes hell and sleep nearly nonexistent. While its not a show for me I'll admit I found some story lines and a few scenes entertaining. So I'm kind of 50/50 on it. I'll watch more with her in the future but not on my own time. I'm about to start watching Band of Brothers. Its been over ten years but I'm pretty sure my rating still stands. 10/10
