I participate in other websites, as we all do. There are forums similar to this (different subjects) that have tasteful little banner ads in the lobby or above the forum. The banners are stationary and not obnoxious. I think the management here should be able to hold the advertisers to a strict format that does not irritate or expand into chaos, and yet is effective to the advertisers, and brings in a little sustenance for the site. And if it brings in profit, all the better. Why shouldn't someone who provides and maintains a great place like this make some money for the time and energy involved.

I wonder could we reach out to the likes of some of the online pipe / tobacco retailers and see if they want to sponsor certain threads (smokingpipes, Missouri Meerschaum, etc.). I saw that in a photo forum I used to be on.
There would be advertising banners in that thread...
OR...
Reach out to these online retailers and allow them to sign up and post 1 ad per week in a thread specific to what they are selling. It would therefore be relevant to us and could not only help them out, but help out those suffering TAD and PAD.
Just a thought. It may never work and they may not want to go with it, but hey - worth a try.

I've belonged to several vaping forums, and a lot of the reputable online vendors that advertised on them would always keep a non-advertised 5%-6% discount code available for forum members. So, a deal like that would be great, and drive revenue both ways.
