Stopped in to Edward's in Englewood today and enjoyed chatting with the proprieter, Bryan. I have been frequenting this shop since the early nineties I think. Met a nice guy named Luke, who was a few months into his pipe journey and we talked tobacco blends with Bryan for 15 minutes or so. Luke bought some Ye Olde Sign and I picked up a tin of Balkan Sobranie, a tin of Robert McConnell Original Oriental and a pouch of Carter Hall. Nice visit. Wish I had been able stay and smoke in the lounge, but had other obligations. It truly is a classic tobacconist.

Sounds like a great place. I wish mine was like that.

Must be nice to have a B&M nearby where you can just sit back, enjoy your favorite smoke and converse with old and new friends. That’s something I miss dearly, back on Long Island I had 3 B&M’s I frequented often. No better way to unwind after a long day of work. One of the B&M’s we would set up family barbecue’s on weekends.

Ah,if wishes were gumdrops I still wouldn't get any.The B&M closest to me is run by a bunch of "Hipsters" chewing on cigars and talking sports. Now don't get me wrong,I like cigars, and I can hold my own talking sports. But their pipe knowledge is an insult, and I can't stand the "I'm smarter than you" attitude they put off. So,I do my piping at home or in the car and come here for intelligent conversation. Thank You Gents and Lady M.I greatly appreciate the fun and help I've gotten from all of you.

Stopped in to Edward's in Englewood today ... Too funny. I was literally on my way to Edward's around 1:00 pm today, but remembered something else that I needed to do. Maybe we'll bump into each other there one of these days.

If you guys (Don, Walkman) are ever in the Springs, check out Stag...one of the AZpipe club members stopped in there, impressive.
That would be Colorado Springs, not Glenwood or Steamboat you Yanks!

If you had to listen to the "Dribble" the wonderful youngens spill out (they call it Customer Assistance). You would realize that You,Legend Lover, are on par with JimInks. If you're lucky enough to enter a Tobacco store where they actually smoke pipes as well as cigars, then say a quick thank you.

Intended as a compliment,I look at Jim as a mentor on blends and their complexities.

Intended as a compliment,I look at Jim as a mentor on blends and their complexities. I am humbled, but I don't think I can say that I am in any way on a par with JimInks ...on any level. I can't even draw.

The one left in Dallas ( the one in Ft. Worth closed awhile back ) is mainly a cigar store these days. I bought 15 pipes from them back in the '70s and lots of their Special Balkan that I used to smoke. Things change !

Good timing for this thread - heading up that way soon, and will be sure to stop there and at Stag's.

Report back on Edwards: nice atmospheric, well stocked shop. But I got the feeling the codger proprietor didn't cotton to strangers. I picked up a couple of nice semi-HTF tins, though.
