Hello Pipe smoking has been an off and on adventure for a number of years. I am a fan of English, Balkans, Virginia and Virginia Perique blends with an occasional aromatic (Tobacco forward..lite casing) for a change of pace. My pipes range from traditional Rhodesians to Freehands. Enjoying both European (Nording, Preben Holm, Karl Erik etc ) and American (Wiley,JAndrew, Tinsky etc.) pipes, my collection spans "a few" makes and models. Happy to be here, I trust your day is going well. Best Lee I feel like it is a tad unfair to brag on that pipe collection and not post some photos.
You owe us a photo thread now If I wanted to brag, I could say_______ ________ . However I did not say thatπ? Most of my collection is still in boxes. The pipes I have out are my Wiley(my largest collection outside the boxes)and a few Bari, Stanwell, JAndrew, Andre, Boswell, GBD, Petersons, Tinsky, Vacher, Elliot, Edwards pipes etc.for smoking. I will see what I can do about pictures, though I actually shy from doing so for the very reason you mentioned in your post. PS The image I currently use for my avatar is a 70-80s Danish made Bjarne. It is either the second or third Danish freehand,I purchased.

qmechanics, hoping you are on high ground and dry. The pictures out of Manhattan are not good. Hi I should be ok where I live. There are growing fears that the continuing rainfall might cause the Kansas River to flood. I live far enough away that if this occurs, my family and I should be ok. Tuttle Creek Lake is also a concern. My home is on the other side of the ridge, so there is a large natural barrier. Yet it only gives me some solace as many more homes could flood if either the river or reservoir (With the reservoir the flood gates would open before catastrophic failure. However there are properties that could be in danger.)are compromised which would be a disaster. I appreciate your concern.

There are growing fears that the continuing rainfall might cause the Kansas River to flood. I live far enough away that if this occurs, my family and I should be ok. I live closer to Tuttle Creek Lake which is also a concern. My home is on the other side of the ridge, so there is a large natural barrier. Yet it only gives me some solace as many more homes could flood if either the river or reservoir (With the reservoir the flood gates would open before catastrophic failure. However there are properties that could be in danger.)are comprised which would be a disaster. I appreciate your concern. I remember standing on the dam side of the floodgates in the early '70's, reading a plaque from the Corps of Engineers stating the floodgates would likely never be used given the size of the reservoir. At that point the lake was at a high point and water was within a couple of feet of breaching the top of the floodgates. Fortunately, they didn't have to be opened at that time. However, in 1993 the floodgates were raised for the first time, four feet I think, and it was apparently a spectacular sight. The water outflow did significant damage to the channel. Good Luck!!

Like a strip of fire crackers, he started with a bang and then continues in the same vein. Fire crackers are harmless, but they are a pain in the arse. Not you, qmechanics... You're not a pain in the arse at all. π
