Both AJ and myself smoked Balkan Sasieni from the same tin, we both noticed an odd chemical taste. Maybe from a bad batch???

You know, if all you taste is smoke, you might as well buy the cheapest blend you can with a nice room note.  True, but all blends are the same price here (give or take a few pennies) so I try something new every month in case I hit that golden blend. I've checked, but balkan supreme isn't available in the UK. Hey ho. Maybe in Northern Ireland you can get Stokebbye Balkan Supreme. Stokebbye makes it for Arango and it's the same thing. They don't sell it here because of the Arango deal. |

If you can get Balkan Sasieni it’s the same thing in a tin.  I've read that before but I'm not so sure.... Is that on good authority? IMHO, Balkan Sasieni and Balkan Supreme are similar, but not the same. Sasieni is saltier and Supreme is sweeter and fuller, if memory serves. I much prefer Balkan Supreme. |

Martin - I’ve become curious about this blend since you wrote about it the other day. What, if anything is it similar to ? It's the closest thing to the old 759 you'll find. If you never smoked that you missed out on probably the finest Balkan ever made. It went away in the mid to late '80s. Try it it can spoil ya for Balkans. !  |

I think you’re referring to BSOSM Match. I can’t find it on P&C. There’s also a 759 Match he made. I found it here: www.tobaccopipes.com/tobacco-match-alternative/But it’s sold out. WhiteKnight & BlackHouse are both in the same ball field......BlackHouse being the stronger of the two. WhiteKnight is good any time of the day as I enjoy BlackHouse more towards the evening 👍 |

I'm smoking Supreme and Sasieni back-to-back and can say without a doubt that these are not the same blend. Well I do have one doubt - the Supreme I had was pretty well aged and I don't think the Sasieni was, so that could account for the differences.
Overall, Supreme is sweeter, softer, and heavier on the Lat. Sasieni is more astringent, sharper, spicer, and harsher. Young VAs, maybe? I like both but smoking them close together like this I realize I like Supreme so much more.
