Sooo glad that I got back into the hobby a few years back, figured out what works for me and cellar binged.... almost everything I bought qualified for free shipping and was untaxed.
In the firearms hobby, an old saying was “buy cheap, stack deep”, I took the advice and bought several crates of M1 ball ammo for 25 cents per round, at the time I felt like I was paying too much, not anymore!
Buy cheap, cellar deep.

Well, what about unpaid labor? It wrankles me no end every time these injunctions are passed and employees of the affected businesses, become proxy slaves to a State and become their unpaid bookkeepers.

Definitely a lot harder to build a deep cellar across the pond... impossible to buy cheap..Even in Canada, a hundred dollar bill doesn’t get you much tobacco.

We here in America don’t realize how much cheaper tobacco products as well as many other products are much cheaper here!!! My first car in Europe cost me almost double what it sold for back in the States. Let’s not get started with the cost of petrol overseas.....and we complain here when gas hits the $3.00 per gallon mark.

What’s with this “We” don’t realize it? I do... I do take it for granted though, I can chuck 10 tins in the cellar, and not think about it much... 10 tins at Canadian prices, and the wife would be on the warpath.

Petrol in Ireland is a bit out of hand, the poor can’t afford more then ridding a bike or cheap 50cc scooters. The “ FAT CATS “ pockets just keep getting deeper!!

Does your tobacconist sell bulk, LL? If so, I recommend that you get 1 oz samples of different tobaccos to try vs investing in an expensive tin that you may not like.

I sent 3 tins of tobacco’s to a friend in Australia for his Birthday. I signed all the proper papers and declared the package as a gift for his Birthday. Customs still questioned my friend and told him...” you must prove it’s your Birthday or the tax on each tin would be equivalent to $40.00 American dollars “! My friend went home and returned to Customs with his birth certificate. It ended up a great Birthday for him🎈🎉🎊🎈🎉🎊

Every rope smoking piper should be able to experience opening a 550 gram rope of Brown Bogie.

Lol. It would be something.
A few places sell Loose tobacco for about 20p cheaper than tinned (at 50g). Buying larger quantities means the savings do add up but I can barely afford the £18 per month so there's no way i can justify buying in bulk.
Anyway, it is my birthday at the end of September. My inlaws normally give me about £15 each, so I've said to the wife that I'll buy a selection of tobaccos with their money and that'll do me. I've already started to make a list that changes like the wind direction.

My brother once tried to send me an estate pipe from Oz but couldn't find a courier company that would do it; they are forbidden by law to courier "smoking paraphernalia" Ended up just chucking it in normal mail as a gift and arrived quickly and intact.
