Is anyone a fan of the Marx Brothers?
I found them comic geniuses.

Of course I am a fan and of course they were comic geniuses.
Groucho upon being told that his friend was going to South America: You go Uruguay and I'll go mine".

Groucho again: "I never forget a face, but in your case, I'm willing to make an exception".

Being that Groucho is my favorite comedian, I refuse to join any thread that would have me as a member.

Both excellent movies.
When I was a child, the local TV station used to air their movies at Christmas time around 2am.
I've great memories staying up late to watch them with the twinkling lights in the background.

yep.......Groucho could insult along with the best of Don Rickles. not sure if it was Uncle Miltie who started the insult comedy but reminded of this gem :
Miltie to female heckler in the front row: "Damn...you're the ugliest woman I've ever seen"
Lady: "Mr. Berle, you're drunk"
Miltie: "yes I am but tomorrow I'll be sober but you'll still be ugly"

"One morning I shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got into my pajamas I'll never know."
I love them and reading about them as a kid I found their real life was even more amazing along with all their talents.
And Groucho on "You Bet Your Life" is pure gold.

...a friend of mine (whose name is Richard) was fortunate to have a fairly lengthy correspondence with Groucho. One of Groucho's letters began like this:
"Dear Dick, This is the dirtiest opening in a letter I ever wrote..."
Priceless.

A better questions would be: Who isn't a fan of the Marx Brother?
Anyone with a positive reply should be avoided.

BIg fan, even of the later supposedly "bad" movies. All three had their own hilarious personalities and schticks, and I can find myself cracking up as much at Harpo or Chico as Groucho. JimInks , "I got a good mind to join a club and beat you over the head with it." - the other great Groucho club line.

Just as in the Clarseical music when there were Giants, the Marx bro's, Fields, Laurel & Hardy, will never be equaled.
Note: I tried to edit Classical and it won't display properly.

He stole that line from W.C. Fields. Absolutely LOVE the Marx Brothers! ...and a dozen eggs! I thought it originated with Winston Churchill....? You're right, it does and if I remember correctly (no guarantee), the lady was Mary Astor.
Another Winston: Lady Astor*: "If you were my husband, Winston, I'd give you poison" Churchill: "If you were my wife, M'Lady, I'd take it"
*Again, no guarantee.

...and the letter he wrote to Warner Bros about the dispute of the use of the word 'Casablanca', which the Warners thought they had the sole rights to use because their film was released before "A Night in Casablanca". That letter is a masterstroke and can be found in "The Groucho Letters". (I don't know wy I'm telling you this. You all know it).
